Hey guys,

We are now 3/4 of the way through 2015, so I bet many of you have metrics on your performance versus last year. I thought about creating a poll, but figured it might be more fun to list our successes and failures below instead :)

I will start after this post.

2014
2014 was a fairly dismal year for me. My sites tanked, I didn't keep up very well with updating content, and in general - I just wasn't very into the business as much as I should have been. That caused me a huge decrease over my 2013 numbers to the tune of 3.5x the earnings (i.e., I made 3.5x MORE money in 2013 than in the following year).

2015
In 2015 I bounced back and got equaled 2013 numbers. I was near exact in making 3.5x MORE in 2015 over 2014. This was all content-driven. I created more content, I began to become more active. However - I have slowed down in the last part of this year (hence my post not so long about about some sort of contest to increase my motivation).

Overall
I think overall, this shows that when I create content, I make money... when I let things slide, it is significant to my bank account. I think it is time I need to concentrate and put things together for once. Now... I just have to do it! I hope everyone else is doing well this year, Let me know your thoughts! Let's make this a fun thread (even bragging if you want) :) I may do a quick newsletter to push everyone to this post so that we can get some positive motivation to end our 2015 - so don't be surprised if you see something in your inbox from AGD. If you don't, then let me know - I can give you a way to subscribe to it (BTW - I rarely have a newsletter).

Major increase, already made more until now than all of last year.

But I also notice, chilling a couple of days and notice an instant change in visitor and player numbers.

Like byebyebaby, I have been lucky enough to see a steady increase in income year-on-year since my low-point in 2012.
First 8 months of 2015 was 23% up on the first 8 months of 2014 - so going in the right direction!

This is my earnings graph, with 2015 entered as 1.5 x Jan-Aug to give a year-end prediction.
As you can see, it took 5 years to recover from when all the MG casinos were booted out of the USA at the end of 2008... :(

Not sure about per cents off hand but I would say an increase. I have been writing more and having more articles written. Also I launched new sites that are still babies.

That's great! I find it difficult [myself] to launch new sites. When I do that I tend to leave others to die :( I have gone back to a single site and am preparing it for a better launch. I commend you for the ability to stick with more than 1 site!

That's awesome!!! I'm not sure what your second sentence means, though :) What instant change are you noticing? What is chilling about it?

Yeah, that MG boot was a killer. I am nowhere near recovered from those days. But I had a few medium-high rollers that kept me going. Rival's departure, return, and subsequent failure to return strong also hurt me tremendously - I had a lot of players there that never returned :( I would say that today's earnings for me don't even make up for the Rival players I had. But - still working it and trying hard!

This year's been lower than last, but we're mainly in sports and last year we had the world cup which caused a massive spike for a couple of months. The rest of the year has been fairly similar.

Thanks for that. Great to hear the perspective of Sportsbooking as well. At least you have a defining moment for the downturn. I wonder if you exclude that event how things stack up?

Difficult to say as there's no way of know how much of the traffic would have been there anyway without the world cup, so it's not really possible to exclude it (unless someone has any bright ideas!).

KK is a master at that. I am pretty sure he can slice and dice his data any which way. I also believe he has it all in Excel - but he would have to tell you that :)

I am with KK on it took a bit to recover from the MG pull out but with Net Ent coming into the picture we are recovering very well! We were not hit with the Google slaps but did suffer a bit with YOUTUBE (pricks) closing our video account, that hit hard but we are recovering. Over all we are doing great!! :)

Last year and the year before where both great years for me.. This year due to mostly personal issues, has been a bit slower.. But with that said, I agree with GD.. Fresh content = better rankings = happier bank account.

For me it is creating new pages as I rarely go back and edit old pages. But I'm sure others do go back and edit/refresh.

I didn't think much about the refreshes, but I would be Sports-related sites have expiring content? After an event, I doubt you need that page indexed anymore. For Casinos or Slots, the information is likely more static. I do mostly slots and that information very rarely changes. But more advanced sites update that content in their databases which automatically updates/refreshes pages.

Interesting once I fully thing on it :)

Red Returns acquired by Fortune Affiliates + Referback acquired by Wagershare + other minor factors = I earned 30-35% less than last year

2015 has been awesome for me! My revenue and earnings have doubled over last year and if Affactive would not have gone out of business I think it would have ended up being even better. I lost a decent amount by them closing not to mention all the players I lost that I had there. I am hoping to end the year strong and then on to 2016!

Our revenue doubled each of the first four years - but then seems to have tracked along a plateau for several years. Some programs rise, some programs fall, but it seems that there is a general mass of players that we are able to attract and growing above that number with the current set-up is proving difficult.

This year is looking to be the best since starting affiliating when measured in local currency - but the local currency has dropped 20% against the Euro, Pound, Dollar in the last few months - so it's more of a local financial thing than any significant change in the market.

Managing many small sites, instead of focusing on one big site, and promoting too many questionable affiliate programs has set me back a bit. Over the last few months, I've been focusing on one big site, and I've removed many dodgy affiliate programs. Now I'm starting to go forward again.
