Vulkan Vegas Tops German Brand Awareness as Searches Decline
Search demand declined across most German gambling categories in Blask data extracted on October 13, 2026. Vulkan Vegas took first place for brand awareness, while Tipico led the separate measures of acquisition potential and calculated earning potential.
The October figures also showed substantial growth for some individual operators. Vulkan Vegas recorded a 259.80% increase year on year and gained 38.64% month on month, even as several major gambling categories lost search interest.
Lottery Retains Its Lead as Category Interest Falls
Lottery generated the largest index among the categories tracked, reaching 205.6 million despite an 8.88% decline. Online casino search demand dropped 12.26%, and online betting fell 15.13%.
The declines extended to online poker, which lost 27.05%, and bingo, which decreased 66.74%. Racing moved upward, recording a 34.71% increase.
Prediction markets registered growth of 283.30%, taking their index to 72,130. The segment continued to attract considerably less search demand than the established gambling categories.
Within the tracked online casino content, slots represented almost 90%. Book of Ra Magic held the highest visibility figure at 26.66%, with Book of Ra Deluxe close behind on 26.07%. Book of Dead registered 24.83%.
The player-interest measure produced a different order. Book of Ra occupied first place with 18.31%, and Aviator followed on 14.41%. Pirots recorded 13.25%.
Tipico Leads Potential Scores as Vulkan Vegas Tops Awareness
Vulkan Vegas achieved a Brand Awareness Position (BAP) score of 18.59%. Tipico followed with 17.91%, ahead of NV Casino’s 15.55%. Fourth-placed bet365 recorded 7.03%, while Merkur completed the leading five at 4.16%.
Tipico’s Acquisition Potential Score (APS) reached 1.49 million. Vulkan Vegas followed closely at 1.45 million, with NV Casino recording 1.26 million.
The Calculated Earning Potential (CEB) figures placed Tipico first at $446.75 million. NV Casino ranked next at $292.39 million, ahead of Vulkan Vegas on $230.35 million. The remaining figures stood at $184.83 million for bet365 and $113.56 million for Merkur.
Other operators also recorded growth over the year. Betano gained 43.43%, while Lowen Play increased 38.65%. Bet365 posted annual growth of 34.43%. Bwin delivered the strongest month-on-month increase at 100.30%.
Search Rankings Cover Brands Across Licensing Categories
Blask’s German rankings cover 388 brands and include operators that lack a German licence. Its methodology uses search demand to track brands across the market.
Max Tesla explained: “We take every site that appears in Google for localised iGaming queries, filter out affiliates and media with two AI models, and a human checks whatever is left, so small and new brands make it in too. Then each brand receives a licence status for that country: Local if it holds a licence there, for some or all verticals, International if it doesn’t.”
Tesla added: “That’s why the 388 German brands include operators without a German licence. Everything is based on search data: Blask Index is a real-time measure of market demand volume for iGaming brands in a given country, based on normalised search data, counted per brand with all mirror domains merged.”
Germany’s gambling framework follows the State Treaty on Gambling, which took effect on July 1, 2021. The Joint Gambling Authority of the German States licenses sports betting and online poker. It also licenses virtual slots, while individual state authorities regulate table games.
The standard monthly deposit limit stands at €1,000, while “virtual slot stakes are generally capped at €1 per spin”. An allowance in place since July 2026 lets approved operators offer stakes of up to €5 to eligible players aged 21 or older, subject to requirements. Operators must verify customer identities and use the OASIS exclusion system.
