Live Casino Expansion Gains Momentum Across European Markets
Live casino games are capturing a growing share of player interest in several of Europe's largest regulated gambling markets, according to newly released market data examining operator lobby visibility and game performance.
The research, which focused on the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Netherlands, found that live casino products have moved significantly higher within operator offerings over the past year. The trend points to changing player behavior and increasing demand for interactive gaming formats that blend traditional casino experiences with live entertainment.
Across the markets analyzed, suppliers specializing in live dealer content strengthened their positions, while several flagship titles recorded substantial growth in visibility.
Evolution Strengthens Its Position in Live Casino
Among all live casino providers, Evolution posted the most significant gains during the period covered by the report.
In the United Kingdom, a market valued at $12.4 billion in Customer Estimated Balance (CEB), Evolution rose from a content share of only 0.08% to become the leading live casino supplier. The growth coincided with increasing engagement among players seeking live gaming experiences.
A major contributor to that performance was Crazy Time, which expanded steadily from mid-2025 onwards. The title continued to increase its visibility throughout the first months of 2026.
Evolution also benefited from the launch of Ice Fishing in December 2025. The game combines live casino elements with crash-style mechanics and quickly established itself among the company's strongest-performing releases. Its gameplay structure has drawn attention due to similarities with features that helped make Crazy Time one of the industry's most recognizable live casino products.
The broader market data reflects this change in player preferences. Live casino content in the UK surpassed a 5% content-share threshold after representing only a small portion of available gaming content approximately one year earlier.
Italy experienced a similar development. Evolution entered the highest-ranking group of suppliers, while Crazy Time delivered the strongest growth among individual titles. Ice Fishing also gained visibility and secured second place among leading games in the market.
Italy and the Netherlands See Major Shifts in Player Preferences
The data suggests that players in Italy are increasingly exploring gaming options beyond traditional slot products.
While slots recorded a slight decline in market share, live casino games climbed to become the second-largest gaming category in the country. This movement reflects broader changes occurring across several regulated European markets where live dealer products are becoming more prominent.
The Netherlands recorded the strongest shift among the three jurisdictions examined.
Evolution exceeded a 3% content-share level in the Dutch market, while Crazy Time maintained its position as the leading live casino title. Ice Fishing held second place until additional competitors entered the rankings during the opening months of 2026.
Live casino content in the Netherlands expanded dramatically, growing from roughly 0.1% market share to more than 7% within less than a year. As a result, the category moved into second place behind slots and became one of the fastest-growing segments in the market.
Rival Suppliers Continue to Challenge for Market Share
Although Evolution led the growth trend, other major suppliers also maintained strong positions across Europe.
Playtech and Pragmatic Play remained prominent competitors in live casino distribution, particularly within mature regulated markets.
The United Kingdom emerged as the most competitive of the three jurisdictions reviewed. Playtech and Ezugi both retained visible positions among mid-tier suppliers despite Evolution's rapid rise.
In Italy, Crazy Time maintained a substantial lead among individual games, recording approximately one and a half times the visibility of Playtech's Mega Fire Blaze Roulette Live. Evolution supplied eight of the fifteen highest-ranked titles, while Playtech contributed five entries and Pragmatic Play secured one position.
The Dutch market showed a similar pattern. Evolution accounted for ten of the top fifteen games. Pragmatic Play placed three titles in the leading rankings, while Playtech and ICONIC21 each recorded a single entry.
The latest figures indicate that live casino content continues to gain visibility and market share throughout Europe. Evolution remains at the forefront of this expansion, while Playtech and Pragmatic Play continue strengthening their positions as operators allocate greater prominence to live gaming products.
