I'm trying to avoid doing real work, so thought I'd start this thread.
Where did you get your first depositing player, when you started out as an affiliate? And/Or, where did you first get paid?
In my case, my first depositing player and first payment both came from a casino called Golden Riviera, which at the time was being promoted via the Affiliate Window network which today has grown into the mighty Awin group. I was, at the time, purely a books affiliate via Amazon, and decided to put up a link to Golden Riviera somewhere (I forget why and where I linked) and I picked up a conversion that made me £70. At the time, I thought 'Wow!' and compared that to how many books I'd have to sell via Amazon at just 5% to earn that kind of commission. It made me look deeper into recommending more casinos and launch my first casino sites.
The first network I joined was Referback and soon earned my first commission from there - it was much easier to succeed from the get-go, back then. There was much less competition, and ranking in the SERPs was quite easy. Then I discovered RewardsAffiliates and Wagershare (who later acquired the Golden Riviera brand I got my first conversion from) - but I'm getting off the point.
