Unnatural sounding keywords - why do successful affiliates don't make it sound natural?

So, I'm a newbie in casino affiliate marketing and have noticed that most of the successful affiliates use funny-sounding paragraphs in their copy, like "if you want to find the best no deposit casino bonus 2022, then you are in the right place. Here at "domain" we do nothing but search for the best casino bonus no deposit UK 2022".

They do that to a laughable degree, where I crack up reading their nonsense.

I know those are long-tail keywords, but can't you just put them in a natural order without fearing that Google won't acknowledge them?

Another question, do you really have to spam 3k words targeting a keyword like "10 free spins"? Technically, this keyword would require almost no copy other than maybe a definition for the offer type.

I also see affiliates writing unrelated content for their targeted keywords.

Let's assume the keyword is "best Starburst sites". They'd often give a review of the game, how to play it and so on - but that's not really what the search intent is about.

Gimme your 2 cents, I beg.

That's a very valid point, in my opinion. People obsess over writing too much content, hoping it would improve their ranking, when, as you say, "10 free spins casinos" keyword can be covered quite well with 400-500 words.

And, yes, I feel Google can easily pull out "best casino bonus no deposit UK 2022" from Find the best casino bonuses for UK players that require no deposit in 2022, or smth like that.

I think this habit is from old times and then their competitors started to copy/paste exactly the same thing on their sites. Now such nonsense is not needed. You can write it in the correct way and the page will rank for all other variations including that nonsense as well as the following examples:

  • Bonuses without a deposit in 2022
  • No deposit casino bonuses in ...
  • The best no deposit casino bonus
  • No deposit casino bonuses in ...
  • Casino bonuses without deposit
  • etc, etc, blahh

People, on the other hand, type in different nonsense into Google, and when they land on a page and see exactly that nonsense which they just typed in, some believe they'll stay on that page longer, especially if that keyword is near the top.

P.S Just noticed one has -- What to Consider When Looking For 10 Free Spins No Deposit Bonuses in The UK in 2022?
I would not put such on my sites even for money... LOL

--------------------------------

Many affiliates are doing exactly what their top competitors are doing, and if they see that their competitors have a Starburst game review on their page, they will write one as well.

You can write what ever you want ... your link strategy will move the needle for such heavy (I dont know why) competition keys.
But its proven (in general) that long form content outperform short.

But that can end up in funny cascading, skyscraper nonsense. If you follow a WDF/IDF approach and the TOP10 serps ranking with a average of 3000 words, you'll maybe put 500 on top to cover some more long term keys etc ... and the next guy will do the same!?

Here we go ....

You can try then with "What to Consider When Looking For 10, 20, 50 or 100 Free Spins No Deposit Bonuses in The UK (Great Britain) in 2022 and 2023?" :D
