Thoughts: Google, Facebook, encroachment on affiliate space in gaming

How does everyone feel about Facebook, Google, and others competing with us? I was just thinking about the Facebook apps, mobile apps, and some of the google pages that I have seen which drive traffic straight to casinos. How will that affect our income levels in the future? Will this be a problem when the US regulates and Google/Facebook/Others want a piece?

It's curiosity, mostly, on my part. I just notice that Facebook, especially, seems to be showing a lot more slots and gaming apps lately.

I hate the fact that the future for affiliates here is so unknown.

For the past two years now this has been my only real source of income, I have been looking into other things to get into but nothing else that interests me seems to match the income or even come close. It makes me not want to finance anything long term, that's for sure.

Exactly my point. Now I rely on my primary job for my income, but a lot of you work full-time as affiliates. Does this scare any of you? I'm really curious about the whole FB play more than anything as they are gearing up to make as much money as they can wherever they can.

I personally see the end of all of us.. You guys ever heard of internet 2.0 ? Basically they will create a "cyber terrorist attack" - shut the internet down.. And then only the large sites will be up and running.. Google will probably turn 100% paid listings in the future.. force most small ppl out. I mean just think if the top 50 sites colluded, google, youtube, facebook, yahoo etc and they just "fixed" the top results.. Bang everyone is gone in an instant.

Monopolosiation on top of monopolisation.. Rather than have a finger in every pie, they want the whole pie to themselves. And they will get it. Personally when it starts to go like that.. I will switch off my laptop, cancel my ISP and go fishing.. fook em all.
