Reportedly, following the investigation carried out by the Liquor and Gaming New South Wales regulator, the online sports betting operator Sportsbet.com.au was found sending the promotional materials to punters who had earlier opted out of receiving such inducements. These infractions along with inability of players to effectively block the offers have occurred over the course of six months from October of 2020.

The operator has reportedly been ordered to pay a fine due to violation of advertising rules of New South Wales.
