The State Treaty on Gambling came into effect in Germany on July 1, 2021, and since then online sports betting has been in effect. On September 28, the Gambling Addiction Day, (BZgA) provided information about the dangers of online sports betting with the help from the Federal Government Commissioner for Addiction and Drug Issues.
Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) is calling for sports betting ads in Germany to cease before 9 pm. Ads should not be posted online or on television.
