Greetings.
I've been working in the industry for several years now and finally decided to take the step to create an affliate account. Now when I say working in the idustry it's been pretty much customer service and to some extent marketing, so I have a good feel for certain games and how companies work, but... I'm clueless about affliates. The only question I have really at this stage is do I apply for certain affliates and once accepted build the website around them, or build a general websites promoting what I'd like to finally move to , in my case probably Bingo, Slots and Poker, and then after a time approach companies to become an affliate. It's a bit like the Chicken and the Egg for me just now, so all advice is welcome. TIA.

Sorry, my English isn't perfect, so i don't sure that i understand you well. I think that another AGD member will reply ASAP to your question.

But to be short. Gambling affiliate marketing is very flixebility.

By default (except some local jurisdictions), you may create one site for all brands what your want. Or create many sites for one brand. Or many sites for many brands e.t.c. You may sign-up at affiliate program before or after.

Another words in this industry you may do all what you want.

You should develop the site around what interests you in the industry, but develop it after
doing some keyword research and determining what people are actually searching for
when it comes to those areas that interest you. Once you know where your focus is,
then sign-up as an affiliate for casinos, bingo parlors, etc.. and add them into your site

Do not build a site around an affiliate program. It takes too much effort to build a quality site,
and you don't want all of your work and focus to go down the drain, if the affiliate program folds.

Thank you, that makes sense.

Hello, when you create a website first and add some brands to promote, you will need to register for the affiliate programs of those brands. It makes sense to add some reviews or simply add a few banners on your site as you will not make any money from your site if you do not add those promotional materials.

It also depends on how you will be trying to get traffic. For example if you are able to get traffic straight away from facebook, or youtube or ppc, than you will absolutely need some brands to promote on your site.

On the other hand, if you negotiate deals with casino brands and their affiliate programs and you dont have any traffic to show for, your position to negotiate will be limited, and you will end up with a low deal to work with.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. I'm inclined to think I make the site first, source the sites I wish to promote and then after the site is up and running, at least with something to show, I then apply to join the programs? I could register a domain and apply and build the site around accepted affliates, which makes more sense to me in a way, but not sure how they like to do things.. beyond starting many things seem easier in terms of progression.
