32Red Affiliates is changing...
We have listened to feedback from you, our affiliates, and have been working hard to create the affiliate program you wanted and deserve. As from Tuesday next week you can enjoy an entirely new NetRefer-powered 32Red Affiliates.

Featuring the very latest in affiliate marketing technology and tools, you will be able to optimise your campaigns and precisely measure traffic like never before. New features include:

The ability to report on impressions and clickthroughs from your online campaigns.
Information on which banners perfom best for you.
A single banner tag tracks all products instead of having to use different tag formats for each.
Multiple logins to allow access for different members of your team.
Data refreshes every hour, allowing you to measure and respond quickly.
The affiliate centre may be new but we're still driven by the 32Red philosophy that affiliates are very much partners and that trust and approachability are key to long lasting, successful business relationships. To that end, we'll be on hand throughout the transition and beyond to make sure it's as smooth as it possibly can be for you, and to ensure that you make the most of 32Red Affiliates in the future. You can contact us on affiliates@32red.com .

Important information about the transition:

Your old affiliate account will stop collating data as of 23:59 GMT 31st October.
The new affiliate centre will be inaccessible for the first two days of November while we complete the migration. NOTE: your earnings will still accrue and earnings calculated.
You will be informed by email when the new affiliate centre is up and running, expected to be the afternoon of Tuesday 3rd November.
We will continue to maintain the old affiliate system until 30th November to allow you to download any statistics you require. Old data will not be available after this date.
Your banner tags will need to be changed to the new NetRefer tags as soon as possible after launch. Old "BTag" links will not track when the old system is brought down on 30th November.
We're confident you'll find the changes very positive and that they help you maximise your campaigns with us. We expect a great end to 2009 for affiliates and we're certain our improved centre and program will mean partners are ready to face the potential of the new decade confidently.

If you have any questions about how the changes will affect you then contact the affiliate team on affiliates@32red.com

Kind regards,

The 32Red Affiliate Team.

Do not forget to change the links.

Why do programs do this sort of thing? It makes them appear well if not dodgy at least less than competent.

It should be a simple process for any competent programmer to make a redirect for each account so that old links do not lose tagged players. Its as simple as:

- Put a default link in every new NetRefer account.
- Write a small program to map old links to the new default links. It could even be as simple as a one-liner regular expression in htaccess depending on how the links are structured.

Seriously its a job that requires anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours tops.

Because while the old links won't be tracked after November 30, you can bet your last dollar the players will still end up at the casino, just untagged.

Very true; good point. This is the 3rd or 4th time 32Red has changed their links in the last 5 years. Makes you wonder how long they'll stick with NetRefer....

I was just speaking to 32 this am and I was told that yes they have changed software 3 times but they have not asked affiliates to change tags. This time since it is changing to a software outside of the company they cannot use the same tags and they realize that it is a pain for affiliates but the move to Netrefer will please everyone at the end of the day.

Ah, ok -- thanks for the info.

They could still redirect all the existing links if they wanted to... They'll already have a spreadsheet or something matching each affiliate's existing tags to their new NetRefer account (necessary to map everyone and their players over). Redirecting the existing links could easily be done they way Vladi suggested....

True about NetRefer being pleasing to affiliates -- they made the right choice there. NetRefer is a great system. ;D

Actually Netrefer is the best aff system out there in my opinion, so I am willing to take some time to change the links (fortunately I only need to change it in one or two redirect files). I hated the old 32red system where you cannot see anything.

Well you're lucky - I have no idea how many links I have to 32Red across my websites, or where they all are
To make it worse, I am on holiday next week so wont even be able to start looking at this until about Nov-10th.
So what happens to any players who click my old links between now & then?

Engineer : priceless LMAO

@KK : maybe your sites cached the text 32red which would be easier to find.

same thing here with europartners : did not check for the 10free link being approved after the former affiliate manager left.........all links not tracking RMP as EP collects them because you did not ask for being approved for the promo link..................2 years............down the tube.

As for Europartners,
well why did they let this 10 free profiles/links available for affiliates in the program. ONLY the affiliates who got this offers approved should be able to grab tracking links, We made this mistake too when we started as affiliate,
seen 10 free tracking links in our europartners program and promoted it.

I found it a sneaky way from EP to let this links available for all,
and then say later, no sorry but you have not been allowed to promote that.
I dont know, is this changed now? I did not look into that program anymore since long time, lol

Just received my email - new system is live! Have not had much time to check out the bells and whistles but did collect new banner codes and links. That much is fairly easy and quick.

Hope no-one missed this in their email...

Following the extended trial of increased commission, please note that as per our new terms and conditions , our standard commission rates have reverted to an industry-standard tiered structure topped by a 35% commission rate. If you were previously on a customised rate prior to the migration to the new platform, please contact us on affiliates@32red.com.

And Pokerkeep .. quick tip re "Poker on your MAC" - I find Mac users get annoyed sometimes at people who write MAC because it ain't an acronym (short for Macintosh). And you know how the die hard Mac users can be. Just sayin...
