Are the new affiliate masters also affiliates that make us subaffiliates

Recently, a number of "affiliate masters" from various sites have emailed me with an offer to promote their brands.
However, I noticed that they send me a link to register on the affiliate site that carries signs that I identify as if they themselves are affiliates. I started thinking that if I subscribed to the affiliate site using the link they send me, I would become their sub-affiliate.
On the one hand, I do not want to be a sub-affiliate because then the casino operator had to pay them an additional commission for my activities, which limits me to the level of commission I can ask from the casino.
On the other hand, they do work for me, and they deserve to make a living from it just as I make a living from the players I send to the casino.
what do you think?
Have you encountered the phenomenon?
Do you register through the link they send or bypass them directly to the affiliate site?

There is a large number of affiliate manager which are not full time employees of certain company, but more like free lancers.
In those cases it varies how the agreement was set: either they have aff manager access or indeed as master affiliate.

Overall, no harm done as also full time AM many times paid based on results. but indeed, if theoretically, i had option to sign under inhouse AM and freelance AM, i would choose the inhouse one as it is direct contact with the company and as that's what he is focused on and not mixing dozen things.

My guess is mainly to identify who actually managed to get that affiliate onboard, seen it a few times but not a huge amount.
