Anonymous Domain Acquisition Using Crypto?

I heard that such a thing was possible, but I have no idea if it is true.​

Anyone here ever purchase a domain anonymously with crypto? Is this a real thing?

How and where can one do it if so?

Namercheap accept Bitcoin, although I haven't used crypto to buy a domain yet. You would still have to enter your details during registration. So not exacly anonymous unless you enter duff details, which may cause problems further down the road if you ever needed to prove ownership for some reason.
