Quite a mix of programs signed up so far -- some great, others extremely rogue. Euro Partners and bwin/Party are still allowed in the doors to recruit new victims? LOL.

I've never been to Amsterdam; maybe I'll get there someday. Probably not this year, though; once again I have too many irons in the fire. ;D

Brightshare appears to be going rogue, and I urge everyone to skip this "free" lunch since it is being paid for by stealing money from their affiliates.

If they can afford to fly people to Amsterdam, and if they can afford to buy 2,500 lunches each day, then they can afford to leave their T&Cs alone -- or apply the changes non-retroactively.

Alex, I think you should consider banning Brightshare from this conference and from all future conferences.

I totally agree. Brightshare and Roxy should both be banned from all future conferences. I am seriously considering boycotting any conference where rogue programs are allowed to promote their scams. No affiliates will mean no conferences.

I dunno, what about rounding up as many homeless people as you can find in Amsterdam and bringing them to the "free" lunch? Hit BS in the hip pocket where it actually hurts.

And yet it is the affiliates that support the conferences ?

I doubt very much this will ever happen. They will probably both end up winning awards in January instead 8)

Sad but true.

I don't know if "support" is the right word. Maybe.

It's like Facebook: you sign up for an account for free, and you are the product being sold to advertisers. When you go to an affiliate conference, you are the product being sold to the affiliate programs. We get in free and the programs pay. If there were no affiliates the programs wouldn't pay to be there, but if there were no programs paying to be there no affiliates would go. So it's a chicken and egg thing and the organisers are balancing one off against the other.

Re above - I hope you don#t mind but I would rather not comment right now as progressing some stuff in the background but I hope you understand that I am listening and am not sitting in my gold throne counting the dollars. I totally understand our business model and that it is built on providing affiliates with what they want whether this is in print or a live environment. Sometimes it isn't as simple as you think though so please bare with me or feel free to email alex AT igamingbusiness.com with your thoughts.
