Some of that is just business, but there is a way of doing business where you try to complement what others are doing and there is a way of doing business where you try to crush anyone else that has good ideas.

Michael
Hey Michael, first of all a big warm welcome to you :)

Second: I couldn't say it better what I felt about this whole issue than you did.

Thank you for that!

I'd like to be very clear that GPWA does not certify programs. If you look at the GPWA website you will see we try to be very clear that we have sponsors and we do our best to avoid any statements on our site that a program is certified simply because it chooses to support the GPWA as a sponsor. Certification is a complicated process, and I have not wanted us to claim any sort of certification without a good process in place.

With the recent acquisition of the APCW Audit staff that will likely change since I feel we may be in a position to begin to do some meaningful certification work. But even then I doubt that I would use the term certification since the meaning of that word has been so tainted by the meaning of the term CAP certification. And we would certainly focus on a different aspect of certification that affiliate guard dog.

Having watched CAP take GPWA ideas (as noted earlier in this thread) and produce inferior versions of them as check-off items for some time, I appreciate Andy's pain much more than most of you might realize.

My apologies Michael. You are absolutely right, GPWA does not claim to certify sponsor programs.

There is a common misconception though that this is the case. Many affiliates are openly confused by the various sponsorship levels. Even some of the affiliate managers are confused... in a recent thread (can not post url due to forum restrictions) PatriciaRome makes a statement that implies there is a vetting process involved in approving sponsors at GPWA.

I look forward to your use of APCW to out the rogues and help make our industry a better and safer place for affiliates and players alike.

It is great to see you here at AGD, I would love to see much more interaction between AGD and GPWA. Especially now that Casino City owns APCW, perhaps the occasional joint venture would be possible.

We have already chatted about this and are looking into ways we can work together and support one another. Great minds think alike it seems ;)

Andy, I will be with you. I like AGD very much, I like your work, and I like your alerts. I use RSS feed of AGD and it's very easy to know about everything, and I like to read your alerts, because you use green and red colors, and it's easy to understand that these changes are good or bad, so I don't need any other T&Cs alerts, moreover I don't like email alerts or pm alerts which are offered by CAP.
