For all affiliates that got closed down by William Hill the other day - take a look on X and you'll see all the "big" affiliates still promoting them massively as Cheltenham kicks off today. I've made a nice little habit of reporting all William Hill ad posts and posts by affiliates that continue to promote them as spam. Take a look at @FootyAccums https://twitter.com/FootyAccums/ - so much ad spam on that feed, including William Hill ads every 5 minutes.

William Hill are taking smaller affiliates for mugs. They'd rather pay the spam social guys for thousands of worthless registrations and not you.

Are William Hill going to be added to the Roguehouse ?
Don't forget 888 too. 888 Holdings is the parent company that owns William Hill. Both have been involved in dodgy practices for two decades and multiple times. Affiliates still go back to them sadly.

There is zero reason to promote these shit brands William Hill, Mr Green, Betsson, etc. They're all going down the drain because they won't be able to survive long-term in the regulated EU markets as regulations just become worse and worse. Off shore is the only way to go these days.

Exactly. These brands seem to think they can survive in European markets, but in 3-5 years (MAX) they'll be swallowed up and regretting not being innovative back in 2023/24. Kindred did the same, already a dying company, pulled our of the USA, ripped off affiliates, and now seem to think they can make money from the Netherlands

This industry is plagued with short-sighted people. You know why? Because they're all dangled a carrot 1cm in front of their eyes, so they do what they need to to get their bonus. It's very short term, everything is planned only months ahead. If you don't think big you may as well go home. I've never seen an industry with so many amateurs, even at the top of companies, and I've worked in many top global companies and industries. The gambling industry just can't help itself. It doesn't also attract the business talent that other industries can command.

The point is though that these brands would rather get 1000 players at $1 revenue each than 100 players at $30 revenue each. So short sighted. They just go for numbers in the hope that in a year or two they'll still be in a job

Can guarantee that some of the player quality these social guys are delivering actually delivers negative GGR when you factor in bonuses. I know a few affiliate managers who have confirmed this. Most of the big affiliates are delivering negative value. Something has to give one day

This is interesting. Do you know why this segment of players is so bad?

Because the big media buyers but absolute trash traffic from anywhere they can. They pay $0.50 CPMs to really bad African sites and then drive traffic to operators and charge them 10x or 20x more in CPAs or fixed fee. They know they're driving worthless traffic that wouldn't perform on revenue share, but they're happy to rip off the operator for thousands of player CPAs. Then the operator loses money, and then the operator hits the honest guy who is driving quality traffic on revenue share by shutting down accounts because they spent all their budget

A good website will drive good players. Bought trash traffic on bad websites and social media accounts just buys random clicks and not targeted traffic.

Mr Green (part of 888 Holdings) has now reversed their decision to close their affiliate program. As if anyone is going to trust this company's brands any more!
