The Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) in Ontario's proposed ban on athletes, celebrities, and other influencers from appearing in commercials and advertisements promoting online gambling aims to create a safer online gambling environment in Ontario. The ban, which also includes cartoon characters, symbols, and role models, is a step towards minimizing the negative impact of gambling on children and youth.

It seems Ontario has taken a lot of lines from the UKGC's play book and is taking it even further ( though UK and EU's proposed banning gambling on football shirts seems not far behind)
