The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has granted licenses for sports betting to horse tracks and online operators ahead of the state's legal sports wagering launch scheduled for September 2023. In-person betting will begin on September 7 at designated venues, and online betting will start on September 28 through licensed mobile applications. The move is expected to generate around $23 million annually in tax revenue for the state's pension fund.
