Hi,

I m running a freshly launched website on the french market.

I took the decision to be transparent with my readers. The wager conditions are not hidded and they are even highlighted !

Personally I think that the player is not stupid and that he is looking for reliable information.

As I see a bit everywhere, this information is always a bit hidden and secret.

Based on your valuable experience would you say that it is a good idea ?

If you promote in the UK then the wager is usually found in the t&cs which you have to display.

For me I like your approach with being up front.

Inform your users or customers always what's going on. Bad or good both is important to read that users can decide. You can write pros and cons. For myself it was always a concern to inform any user as well as possible and beeing honest. I would never tell our users to play in a casino if i know it's absolutely bad.

Unexperienced users has also the right to learn from experienced users. If one user makes bad experiences because you told him not the truth, then he don't come back and don't trust you anymore. But you can only warn, the user decide finally by himself.

But on some affiliates it doesn't care, they make advertising anywhere. Clicks and highly CPA is the only interest. Whether customers experience bad with casinos or any bonus terms they don't interest.

Thank you for the excellent feedback. This forum is top.

On my local market (France) the affiliate offer is very poor and low quality. (There is a few exceptions). Their only goal is to make a one shoot.

Thank you again both of you for your answer.

Pros and cons make sense that Insider suggested. Showing significant terms, like wagering requirement, that might have an impact on whether or not the player would opt for the promotion or not are required in the UK but I think they are good to show on other markets as well.

Unless requested by law (like the UK), I think it depends on the target audience.

If your website targets experienced players who look for the wager requirements anyway before signing up, then sure, provide that information about wagering requirements.

If your website is for example about a rather unrelated topic like Minecraft or Bitcoin (just 2 examples!), and you try to cross-sell them a casino, then no, I'd not make it more complicated than it already is and not mention wagerin requirements (which many won't understandy anyway).

Just like everybody here stated, in regulated markets it will basically be mandatory to add full terms & conditions, including wagering.

As to other geos, I'd say it depends on your approach. Adding full details does show a higher level of professionalism and might help you build a database of more solid players, and not just bonus seekers and newbies.

Thanks for the qualitative opinions.

In France, we are lucky that some casinos offer sites with zero wagering requirements. There is quite a lot.

Highlighting the wager systematically is an opportunity for casinos without a wager.

Casinos with complicated conditions opens up a boulevard to the casino without wagering conditions.

I find the best review sites are honest and provide a pros and cons section. If a review is overly positive I tend to be suspicious, and trust it less... If your goal is to build a site players trust, and will return to often, be upfront in all matters. It also helps with search traffic when you include 'concerns' other players may have.... Googling is usually the first thing most people do when they have a 'concern' or suspicion.

I think it's always best to be transparent. Both players and casino brands appreciate that otherwise it just leads to bad experience on both ends.

Quite right - and nice to see a familiar face :D

I can't even see holding back when providing content... After years writing, you start to run out of topics to write about... Especially when its something your visitors could actually find helpful.
