Following the steps of Hero Gaming. As compliance is getting tougher, marketing and costs increasing, these won't be the only 2. Many others will follow.

Casino Heroes is 'just' not working with affiliates anymore for new traffic. Casino Room is pulling completely out of the market.

But I agree many will follow. Compliance things are insane in the UK, net player value decreasing and many brands simply do not have enough market share to run their operations in the UK.

Also, some brands folded their license because they were under investigation. For smaller companies getting a fine of a few million could mean bankruptcy.

I've heard ex-customers got 'spammed' with offers to play at Leo Vegas? Of course with an affiliate link...

Its been a pleasure working with our partners in the UK. But we have hit the end of the road for now and will completely withdraw from the market.

If you have any questions or need more information in any matter please feel free to Send an email to affiliates@ellmountgaming.com

We will continue business as usual with all our partners in all other areas.

Best regards
Casino Room Affiliate Team.

I said this while ago, the UKGC seems like it's trying to ruin (kill) the industry.

In the beginning I was all for the UK to step up to the plate and put in place a proper, bona fide regulatory framework, and subsequently offer online gaming venue licensing. Previous adoptions, from other jurisdictions (aside from a couple), never really 'protected' players. Those that did, either worked for a while, or more often than not, sided with the licensee.

To be boldly honest, aside from player watch dog/mediation sites, who have no official-power, "players" were well overdue for meaningful support, which had teeth!

Reiterating, it seemed the UKGC had its finger on the pulse.

However, as time went on, the high-hopes I had, started to fade.

It's good to take the bull by the horns, and address compliance issues, rules and regulations. BUT... there's a point where operating a commercial entity, where, goal posts keep changing, that policies become counterproductive.

15% tax on GGR was more than fair IMHO. Yet, the UKGC wanted more. 21% is ludicrous. But, they got it. Now it seems, cash-grabs are the focus of the UKGC, instead of actually trying to make the industry better for all.

We've seen a few ditch their UK licensing. And, I'm sure many more will follow.

Edit:
A cynical person couldn't be blamed for thinking, the UKGC is trying to kill-off all the competition, aside from those UK founded (high street) household names. Sure they've been fined too, but not doing that, would red-flag their intentions, hey ;)

It's not a big surprise. I'm sure that they will run out all of the smaller casinos, and
then they will be left with the UK high street brands that don't work well with affiliates.
When that happens, affiliates will promote unregulated brands that accept UK players.

The UKGC should have moderately regulated the online casinos and created a friendly environment for affiliates to promote UK licensed brands. There is nothing stopping
affiliates from promoting unlicensed casinos to UK players. This would go against
everything that the UKGC is trying to stand for.. so it would have been much better
to bring everybody on board to support regulated gambling.. instead of taking the
approach that they know whats best for players and everyone needs to comply.

The problem is that the UKGC handed out way too many licenses, especially with all those white labels. Way too many casinos and player value decreasing.

But, CasinoRoom, what happens with the players? I hear rumors about players receiving offers with affiliate links.

why do you think they "failed"?
Why I think that?

Because I see UKGC trying to "repair" everything with huge fines and a lot of compliance commands.

It would be better if like 80% of the field would have been sustainable brands, which is now definitely not the case.

I finally made the decision to remove Casino Room altogether. Pulling out of the UK was the straw that broke the camels back. Payments were always late and retention (in my case) was awful. Reading on Casinomeister about the brand, I can see why retention was so bad. Players just didn't seem happy.

Either way, the last thing I need as an affiliate is to waste time chasing my commission. Thanks but no thanks.
