Well today was the deadline that 'The Great' Gazoogle ( 'great gazoo' and 'google' combo word - copywrite me) was going to turn search on it's head if your site was not mobile compatible.
Anyone see a difference in search results.

I have not see any difference.

From what I have read... It can take a week or two to fully roll-out across the web. It was just suppose to start today. As far as current results... I still see all the non mobile sites in their same spots.

it will take a while but one of my sites had a bump in traffic the last two days. Its the start of the busy season for that site so who knows if that's the reason or the Queens update.

The mobile search results have been diverging from the desktop search results for the last 7-10 days.
Mobile unfriendly pages (not responsive or redirecting to mobile versions) have been dropped or demoted in the mobile results.

The upshot is the mobile traffic will be sent to mobile-friendly sites more often - hardly a shock.
Desktop results will not be changed "apparently".

I don't think that we will see much more than this - it certainly won't be "mobile-geddon".

We have not been hit by the update, fortunately. I don't see how many sites can unless they are manual built sites, you can buy a £10 Wordpress theme which has the mobile version installed. I can see some large sites which have not made the changes in time be hit but this appears to be a common sense update really, to me anyway.

No mobile change, even the searches i am checking show desktop sites over multiple countries, Desktop seems to have risen but doubt it has anything to do with this update.. I already get quite a lot of mobile traffic anyhow.. so not sure if i will see that much change.

Reiterating my previous views about mobiles in our industry... I don't think they'll ever be a huge spike in traffic, least not for casinos. I can see the advantages for sportsbook apps. That's a no brainer and a very useful tool if your at a game, the races or where ever. Click, click, click and you've placed a bet - easy peasy.

I only promote casinos and going on my stats, over the last 12 months, mobile traffic (android/iPhone combined) is only 0.3%. Granted if you received 10K unique a month @ 12 months, your looking at 300 people using mobiles. Increase that traffic and the actual mobile people rise. But again, I don't think too many people are going to be playing casino games on their mobile. Tablets maybe but not mobiles, I can't see it.

Again mobiles for sportsbooks is a totally different kettle of fish.

The mobile uptake on mainstream sites such as Facebook etc etc is huge. But these sites are not casinos.
I've tried playing slots on my mobile - it's both frustrating and the slots are way too small. Just my opinion of course.

I tend to focus my efforts of players with disposable income, which generally means they are in the age group of 45+. Again my opinion but I can't see these people struggling to see & play the slots on a mobile phone. My sign-ups show that almost all of them are playing via a PC/Mac. Granted I have a couple of mobile players but 99% of my players are PC/Mac.

I tend to agree with Bet4You as I don't see to many people actually playing the casino games from their phone. But the casinos must think so.. Because just about all of them have switched over to support mobile play now. Or maybe the 3% (whatever) players who will play from mobile devices is profitable for them seeing as that could be a good number of players once all added up.

But while they may not play from mobile, they may search... While sitting in my chair on my desktop I still find myself searching for things on my phone, because it is just easier to say OK Google. Mind you that is mostly for local searches but who knows..

"Hey grandson, whats one of those casino sites you can play online from.." "OK Google.. Online Casinos!" Okay Grandpa go to casinos.org

IDK.. whatever the case, in that small amount of traffic you may have a $100k player. Thats why I'm doing it despite the fact that I myself find it extremely annoying to try to play from mobile.

All my sites are mobile compatible/responsive. They've been that way for 18 months or so. Checked them against the Google Mobile Test page and A OK!

I'm not going to bother too much with specific mobile content. The casinos I promote all accept mobile/tablets. So for me, that's about as far as I'm going.

Casino's right now are not great for mobile.. even slots is just a resized version of their desktop and the buttons are still too small.. but there must be someone in the process building out Casino games that not just work on mobiles but also provide a great experience.. there are plenty of highly addictive games for mobile, it just takes one person to crack what works best.. my thoughts are soon we will see something which draws in the casino players mobile..

the buttons are still too small.

The few times I played Thunderstruck @ 32Red mobile, I had some nice wins. Though, just like hitting the wrong key when txt'ing, it's the small buttons which annoy me.

What I notice is a high player value in mobile players. I assume people get stuck in lines, bored, pull out their phones and play. Mobile is not going to replace desktop, but its definitely increasing overall market-share. How many people were using mobile 10 years ago? Someone is today.... who are they? and are they tagged to your account? ;)

This isn't a negative btw just an observation...

I dare say WCD your traffic numbers are rather large and in that regard, offering some dedicated mobile marketing, would be advantagous. My sites don't get a cr#p load of traffic, hence I need to always weight up the benefit of marketing to a small and marginal base, as apposed to... Do I spend my time marketing to the majority. Reiterating while my sites are mobile friendly and each site has a dedicated mobile casino page, including icons to include all platforms on the casinos I promote, that's as far as I go these days.

I'm sure over the next few years as tech becomes better, we'll see an increase in mobile casino apps and the uptake on that increase too.

The only thing I'm not sure about, how tablets interact with casinos. Do these also register as mobile players?

If that's the case, then I could see marketing to tablet users as an avantage.

EDIT: Just to add... Hadn't visited your site in ages. It's HUGE, mind-boggling-huge :D

Sill no change when searching from my phone. Sites that do not say "mobile-friendly" are still ranking above ones that are. I would expect it to hit our industry, not Google favorite by a long shoot, a little later.

About if mobile casinos are the next big thing, who knows but people do search for them... I have been doing fine. You are likely to see Mobile Casino Party if you include the word mobile with anything gaming related. It is not as strong as other terms, way behind "reviews" or "bonus", but it rocks "free chips" and "no deposit bonus" hard :) Don't tread on my territory. Haha, just kidding go ahead and give it a go. You can't take me anyway /flex ;)
