One of my players just informs me he wont receive his winnings today because it is a public holiday in South Africa. I can't do anything about it but this is the wedge, that divides the Ma and Pa casinos from those who have their payment team operating at least from Monday to Friday. I wont mention which casino it is but this week they're operating on a 4 day payment week.

There are many countries with holidays its a fact in this business and will not end for 1 player.

Public holiday in Vegas...go to the cage to cash in chips, sorry Sir it's a public holiday, were closed! Wouldn't happen and shouldn't happen at online casinos either.

Er. Well, December 16th is the Day of Reconciliation in South Africa and - in case you missed it - it's probably been more important than ever this year as Nelson Mandela has just died. This is a pretty big occasion in South Africa. I'd compare it to Independence Day in the USA. Most of the banks are closed and employees for pretty much all South African companies won't be working.

Frankly, there are some things that are actually more important than online gambling.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of humour and I don't appreciate your tone, mate!

The purpose of my post wasn't about this player not being paid.

My post was to highlight that Vegas Casinos, even South African land based casinos don't close the "cage" when it's a public holiday and neither should online casinos. While banks are affected by public holidays, web-wallets certainly are not. Seems most online casinos will move mountains to get deposits BUT use any excuse not to pay winners.
