William Hill - Britain's... (corrected), Israel's ;) largest bookmaker, makes a bid for 888.

Love the way the BBC still think William Hill is British!

Seems the Israelis will be getting into bed with each other even more frequently, very soon! There goes the 888 affiliate program, there goes all your players and rev share you built up with 888 over the years!!

William Hill are also looking at buying BWin too - well, one good thing that would come out of these deals is at least all the crooks and criminals of the affiliate industry would all be in one office!

Hopefully William Hill will capitulate and get too greedy. The Financial Times are already saying they can't afford a cash offer for 888, so it would have to be some sort of share offer. Thing is, in the UK it doesn't matter who they buy - 888, Ladbrokes, BWin - they still will be 4th or 5th best to other bookies located there. William Hill just seem to think they have deep pockets and have an aggressive expansion plan, yet they're throwing money down in the drain in a lot of areas. Guess that's the narcicism of corprate people - they're in one big gamble themselves, and their egos usually stop them from making good decisions.

Why William Hill should not be touched? I saw some big gambling sites are their affiliates.

john08, in short, they don't have the best reputation among affiliates.

I joined this program, if it is not good, maybe I should not work too much on it. I also saw that they got a five star rating on CasinoAffiliatePrograms, so this means that CasinoAffiliatePrograms is not a good reference to search for reputable programs?

CAP advertise programs based on how much they get paid - NOT on how good those programs are, or how they treat their players.
I stopped being an active member there (and GPWA) years ago because of this.
The vast majority of programs on there ARE very good, but the "bad guys" are mixed in with them. Lesser experienced affiliates aren't going to know which are which.
Guard Dog may be a MUCH smaller affiliate forum, but it does have morals, which I why it's the only one I use.

I've worked with Affiliates United twice in the past and I was 99% sure something "dodgy" was going on - so dropped them in Jan 2012.

William Hills casino probably IS totally fair to it's customers.
But ALL the other Aff Utd brands are completely ROGUE due to the Progressive Jackpots Rule.
(If a player won a major progressive of say €5million, the casino would take over 40 YEARS to pay the winnings which they get in one lump sum from the software provider)

So seems that the main issue here is the Progressive Jackpots Rule, maybe promoting their sportsbook will be OK? I saw SportsbookReview is their affiliate and is promoting their sportsbook.
