Due to the siphoning of affiliate traffic via peel away ads, we are roguing Vegas Affiliates. Currently, VA has been asked many times to remove the peel away ads which siphon traffic, but nothing has been done.

At this point it does not make sense for affiliates to send their traffic to a place where a portion of it can be lost, giving them free traffic and untagged players.

VA - Please get your act together and remove the peel ads or make sure they are tagged to your affiliates!!!!!

-------------------- Proof of Siphoning Traffic ------------------------------

Check your affiliate links to their casinos and you will see the following peel ad:

GrandHotelPeel.jpg

When you click through, you can get to all their casinos untagged :( This means you lose the player that YOU sent them.

ROGUE.

Hmm I was thinking VA told us the links on that page peel still track based on their replies in that other thread. I just never thought anything more about it. But after reading more closely tonight I think their answers are ambiguous.

VA Quote "We would like to assure all affiliates that the cookies are active even when players visit Casino VIP Lounge after clicking the link on the referred casino site. "

VA Quote "We are quite willing to prove to you that the initial cookie is still active when visiting CasinoVIPLounge and that there are no new cookies set or old ones overwritten."

Initial cookie?? Does that mean only the original casino the player visited will be tracked and the rest of the casino links at the bottom they are keeping the players for themselves?

Andy are you saying you have confirmed the other links don't track? I know there is no b-tag in teh source code, but I was under the assumption that all our links were tracking from the peel page with the exception of the floridita based on their responses in that thread.

If this is not the case this is a major fck up by them. And the fact that we have to opt in to a special landing page and change all our links just to make sure we aren't sending free traffic is beyond retarded. This should be default. Surely they know affiliates will barbecue them for this type of behavior.

Dear Guard Dog,

We regret to find out about these measures taken by you without any communication to us since we have posted the information about the landing pages project and provided additional information about the correct tracking as for the designated casino. We have also investigated more about the traffic by using our Google Analytics account and there was no danger to any of the affiliate to lose the customer.

However, to fully reassure all affiliates that we have no intentions of manipulating with their players, we have taken these peels off.

To all affiliates: we would like to add that we have made efforts to improve the conversion funnel by introducing special affiliate landing pages. We have asked affiliates about their feedback, but unfortunately nobody provided us with their input. We have informed our affiliates about the possibility of using special affiliate landing pages in our latest affiliate newsletter and on the forums.

Please get back to us if you have any questions or require any further assistance

Thank you for removing. Please ensure that all are tracking and there are no miscellaneous (Floridita or other) links that can siphon traffic.

True, you were not contacted before this roguing. HOWEVER - AGD is meant for discussion, AGD members have complained in the other thread, and questions were ignored. Because of this, I felt this route would be best.

I will remove roguing tomorrow once I go through all casinos via different affiliate's links and verify.

Thanks for removing that offending content. It's very sad we have to go to such lengths to get any attention. Thanks Guard Dog.

I checked out Floridita and it is owned by MiniVegas. Kind of looks like a tool to cross-market our players with unfortunately. You can just convince them over with an email, and presto we are out of the picture. Can you please inquire why it's omitted from the affiliate program?

edited to add: the more I think about it the more I think Floridita should be removed from the VIP rewards program. Removing the peel is a good start, but no matter what our players will get there. Still seems a bit unfair. We should either be able to market to all of your casinos with tracking in place, OR, if you really don't want to let us promote it at least remove it from the website we promote.

I just checked my VA stats;
In 2009 they were one of my biggest earners. (Best income for Apr, Jun, Aug & Dec)
So far, for the whole of 2010 I have earned precisely $0.00 :(

Maybe it's time I kicked them to the curb...

2 WCD Admin: Thanks for your comments. We really hope that our efforts to eliminate all your major concerns are reassuring for you.

Regarding Floridita, it is true that this is not a merchant in VA system, but Floridita is part of the extra loyalty awarded by CasinoVIPLounge. Therefore the removal of Floridita is not an option. We have removed CVL peel from the casino pages as you know, thus eliminating the chance of your traffic going to CasinoVIPLounge.

We would like to explain one more time that you promote VA casinos and they land on the respective casino you choose to promote. They do not land on CasinoVIPLounge, which is a rewards site for existing players, so they just login there to receive additional rewards for their player activity.

Thank you, VA, for answering all the questions. Since the issues have been resolved in regards to affiliate traffic, I have resumed your certified status.

The warning will be removed in January since it has been awhile since the retroactive terms were removed.

Thanks for the offer, but I probably wont bother.
Two reasons why:

You don't have any banners I can use on my websites. (You only have swf types which screw up my sites - I need HTML basic banners - like what Rival and many others use. Also, for some brands you don't have any small enough banners). I am currently using some very old VA ones which don't track impressions.

Although you were once one of my biggest earners, you were also the slowest payers. It was VERY frustrating having to wait 4 to 5 weeks after the end of month to get paid. :(

Hi,

We do currently have GIF banners in the 'Media Library' and they are being updated each month with the new games. You can PM us or send an email to marketing@vavips.com and we can send you the sizes or guide you through the system to acquire them.
Should you need any sizes which are not available in the system, we can also provide you with them.

Thanks for your comments. We really hope that our efforts to eliminate all your major concerns are reassuring for you.
What effort did you take? You stopped funneling our traffic to another site and stealing our players "directly" through the peel away - but you have not removed the offending brand (Floridita) that allows this theft to take place to begin with- and look what it took to get you to remove that!

Regarding Floridita, it is true that this is not a merchant in VA system, but Floridita is part of the extra loyalty awarded by CasinoVIPLounge. Therefore the removal of Floridita is not an option.
You certainly did not answer any question I asked. I asked you WHY. The reason clearly is that the Floridita brand is used to cross market our players to without giving us any credit. It is owed by the same owners for Grand Hotel, Vegas Slots, Vegas Country and the other MiniVegas brands that Vegas Affiliates markets for.

This needs to me removed for me to unrogue your properties.

You claim people don't communicate with you about these problems before taking action, but its you avoiding the questions that we are communicating about that is the real problem. It is clear who will not be working with who - Floridita is not even an option for me to promote, and you have clearly stated that you will continue sending our traffic to brands we get no credit for (aka theft in my opinion)

How would you Guard Dog members be reacting if instead of Floridita being promoted from the rewards site they were promoting Slots Oasis? Would it be okay for these guys to promote another affiliate programs casino? NO. So why is it okay for them to cross promote to Floridita?

Andy, I think Vegas Affiliates is clearly stating that they will NOT be removing Floridita. I hope VA comes in here to tell me I'm wrong.
Therefore the removal of Floridita is not an option.

Dear WCD Admin,

Yes, we are not planning to remove Floridita from CVL. We have provided the reasoning in our previous post.

To sum up, affiliates do not promote CasinoVIPLounge, which is clearly not an acquisition tool. There is no conflict of interests here.

Though should you require a personal explanation we would be delighted to reply to your concerns by email.

Thanks and Regards,

Really?
Floridita is part of the extra loyalty awarded by CasinoVIPLounge
This is your reasoning? I just looked and it looks like an online casino to me.

You just got caught with a peel away ad on your sites directing our traffic to this place. You have a foreign brand on there that we don't get credit for even though its where our players are directed to for VIP rewards. There are links to FloriditaClubCasino on this site. How can it NOT be an acquisition tool given the fact that you promote it and it takes players?
