Hi all, just putting the feelers out to see who is thinking about or booked in to SiGMA gaming conference in Malta in November?

Looking at it myself but wondered if any affs are interested in the event?

I've booked.

Sigma is an interesting event. To me, it was outperforming last years the Berlin conference of IGB.

last yr was packed. They flew in few hundred( over a thousand? ) affiliates . I heard that Maltese Gov was subsidizing SiGMA so they could do that,.

Smart move, let see if they do it again

Would it be worth it for me looking for non EU focused affs?

Perhaps you'll find some people with an English-language website and some traffic from AU. And some Malta-based guys still do AU.

But in general, I think the number of affiliates on this kind of events that are focusing purely on unregulated/restricted markets outside EU is decreasing. Perhaps IGB has this kind of details and if not, it should be interesting to get this kind of stats.

We're getting more and more into a situation where every country is implementing its own rules, public listed companies are dominating the regulated markets and it's getting more difficult in many markets for .com websites servicing more countries.

Going to events is a bit of an investment. There are many of these and time/money is always a factor. From outside EU, you'll easily count a week for attending such an event and a few $k / person.

I've been to one, the year before last. Was a great event, smaller than they are now but meeting affs without a booth was tricky, especially the ones you don't know. Cost is a big factor when attending events, especially for affiliates and smaller companies such as us. But, if it can be justified (from my point of view) then there is no problem. Just wanted to be sure that affiliates that I can deal with will be present.

Zuga, I don't believe they're flying in affs on this one. Maybe a few under the radar but not like they did in the past.

I need the affiliates though, that was my concern really. But the time I went in the past, it was a great event. Just needed a booth to meet more people.

I haven't been offered flight this year - I was for the last 2 years.
But it's only about 80-90 quid return anyway - so that definitely wont stop me!

Will be looking for a better 5-star hotel this year. The last 2 were OK (Corinthians) - but I'd prefer something NOT in the middle of town.
Should be plenty to choose from off-season - and at rock bottom prices too

Dragonara is a nice hotel and also their casino is nice. I've stayed there last year and it was way and way better than where I stayed before (Intercontinental).

not really interested in the malta but got my eye on Lisbon, mainly due to the fact I've never been, but will make my mind up closer the date

I've heard Lisbon is a good conference to attend and will try and make it to that one. Any excuse to visit a new place and all that.....

This is the first time it's been run in Lisbon, so it will be interesting to see who turns out for it.

Malta isn't looking good for me unfortunately, clashing with too many things in whats left of my personal life.

We're definitely going to Sigma with Bojoko team. Sigma really impressed me last year with their dark theme and jungle feel to it. It stood out well from other conferences.
