We have marked Roxy Affiliates as a 'Predatory' Affiliate Program.

Affiliates know, unless they have been under a rock, that Roxy Affiliates added a 'High Roller - Negative Carryover' clause to their terms and conditions. This term is RETROACTIVE, meaning that it applies to affiliates regardless of their active contract.

Roxy High Roller Term Specifics:

  1. Retroactively Applied - Breach of Affiliate Contract
  2. Month 1 Earnings - Destroyed (You lose commissions from all your other players).
  3. Net Win of $10,000 is considered a 'High Roller'

PLEASE VOTE WITH YOUR TRAFFIC THIS TIME!

To help the whole affiliate community, we need affiliates to stop promoting programs that are attempting to reduce commissions by usage of retroactive policies. It is the ONLY way we can stop this from continuing.

To show how this policy WILL affect you at Roxy Affiliates, please see the spreadsheet image below:

I really don't know how much more of the hill we need to see start sliding before people start taking it more seriously because from my POV ... its already time to start yelling avalanche!

Can we get more posts in this thread, please?

Affiliates who won't promote Roxy because of their retroactive high roller clause, please speak up and be counted. ;)

Christ, this stuff is never ending. I've never promoted Roxy, mainly because my focus in the past has been sports betting, but they'll never appear on any of my sites.

A $10,000 net win is not a significant amount. And applying it retroactively is even worse.

I've said this on other forums, but all these Microgaming Casinos are very much cutting their own throats. As they don't offer gaming to USA citizens, these programs often have no brand value in the rest of the world. There's 32Red, Ladbrokes and a bunch of others using the same software that you can promote instead.

Shouting out NOT acceptable!

Getting anyone to listen is the hard part.

Pretty simple! Affiliates don't need Roxy or anyone else with these insane terms.

Does anyone, including AGD, REALLY understand these terms?

I do :) I have gone over the math and even put that math up in each thread. It's pretty obvious that programs are stopping payment to affiliates:

1. ..when the player is Net Negative for the casino.

2. ..in the first month for the purpose of 'recouping' costs of large wins {where the player does not play back the win}.

That is essentially it from my perspective. Any other thoughts?

There are a lot of different ways these new T&Cs can affect affiliate earnings. It depends on the amount won, whether the winner plays it back, how many months that takes, what the other players are doing during that time, etc. There are many variables and possible scenarios.

The basic idea to keep in mind is that the affiliate program wouldn't put clauses like this in their T&Cs (and retroactively apply them) if it didn't benefit them.

If the programs can set up complicated rules that will ring-fence big winners based on certain criteria, then can certainly set up rules to ensure that the new rules are applied only to new players.

We will not promote Roxy or any others pulling these stunts.

THANK YOU AGD for keeping me in the loop during these busy times. If not for this group of people, I'd be up the creek. And thank you too Mojo for your tireless, fearless, campaign. Even when you're critical, I appreciate what you are doing.

I'll stop promoting them as well probably. I'm going to chat with them first though because i'm an affiliate of roxy for 3 years now. But i don't like this action and i don't know why ECOGRA is accepting this.

APCW Action: Roxy Affiliates

Dear Webmasters,

We have mentioned Roxy Affiliates and their Terms and Conditions on our videos over the past two weeks and... to the best of my knowledge... Roxy has chosen to not respond to affiliate concerns or open a dialouge with APCW on their own.

Therefore, the APCW will go forward with our plans to educate webmasters in the most public manner possible about these Terms and Conditions changes and how we feel they affect affiliates in a negative way. We will make certain our opinion on the matter is not missunderstood, and encourage other webmasters to think about how best to educate their peers and their customers, as well as how this affects their long term profitablility with the Roxy program.

Additionally, we would like to receive feedback here about what you would like to see emphasised most in this video or series of videos as it related to educating players about this issue, about blogs and message boards where we can post and re-post the message and videos, and if you plan to help distribute these videos to on your website and email lists.

Thank you...
