Hi all,

Apologies for the delay in replying.

We have made a deal with a trusted operator who is licensed in Denmark/Spain whereby any incidental Danish or Spanish traffic that you send to us will be redirected to Betway. In return for this we will be able to pay you 25% rev share and this will be added as a separate line item onto your monthly payment slip.

If you have any further questions about this, please get in touch with your Referback account manager.

All the best,

Andrew

Betway are owned by the Palace Group, their affiliate program is Wagershare which is a rogue affiliate program.

What association does Carmen Media / Referback have with the Palace Group?

Yeah, Betway is Wagershare/Palace Group, so that's interesting. There are many affiliates who are happy to send traffic to Referback brands, but definitely don't want their traffic ending up in Wagershare's hands.

We always have your best interest at heart. The decision to strike a deal with Betway (Wagershare/Palace Group) was a business decision that was made to ensure that we fulfill our promise to you by monetizing all traffic that you send us under all circumstances. Danish and Spanish traffic is only a small portion of the traffic we receive and that we cannot utilize, but it can still make a difference to your bottom line. Referback is accountable for the tracking of any of your players that are sent to Betway, and will ensure that any commission due is paid.

Thanks, Andrew. Not sure you fully understand the feeling many affiliates have toward Wagershare. We need a 'wagershare-opt-out' for any traffic sent to RB.

Wagershare and the Palace Group, which also includes Betway are a rogue outfit and are listed as rogue here on Affiliate Guard Dog.

There is more to this than meets the eye in my opinion. Could you possibly elaborate as to why for instance John Holmes the former operations director of Carmen Media states on his Linked In profile:

Operations Director
Carmen Media Group Ltd
Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Gambling & Casinos industry
August 2002 – November 2011 (9 years 4 months) Gibraltar

Carmen Media has sold it casino brands to a Maltese based concern and closed it's operations.

John Holmes | LinkedIn

Who is this Maltese based concern?

Carmen Media properties are sending exit traffic to Palace Group brands who happen to be licensed in Malta. The same Palace Group that are withholding legitimate earnings from many affiliates. Indeed they owe me around £3k now. Not including the high number of accounts that have been 'locked'.

No program should send affiliates traffic to another property unless they want to be tarred with the same brush. At this moment in time as far as I am concerned, Referback and Carmen Media need to answer these questions and be honest. Otherwise I will be lumping your properties into the same category as the Palace Group's.

Andrew, Referback is my favorite program by far, I am a small affiliate and you guys have treated me pretty well I even voted for the program on many awards.

However if what your saying is true, then I am afraid it might be time to drop you guys as well, I am not sending any traffic to Wagershare and their casino brands EVER! and I doubt I am alone on this.

It would also be great if you could answer some of Webzcas concerns.

EDIT: Actually Webzcas, I think Carmen Media was sold to Digimedia a while back, doesn't Digimedia have something to do with the Fortune Lounge Group?

Is there any more on this? Andy surely its in appropriate for a program to be diverting traffic to a Rogue program?

I know your busy mate, just wondering what the thought process is here for AGD?

I bought this issue up in November of last year at CM and I didn't get that much feedback.

You can see the thread here: Rep Friendly Fortune Lounge and Referback and more

The thing I found strange was the fact that on the Fortune Lounge casinos the Digimedia link is clickable, but at those who used to belong to Carmen Media they have just used an image so there is no linking at all.

Can we get some answer from Referback please? About the redirecting traffic and the Digimedia speculation. It is not that much to ask.

Hi there everyone,

Wow this thread has started spinning all over the place... let's try get some order (as requested mattsgame):

1. Redirects to Wagershare
- This is being done on a small portion of visits (Danish and Spain only) and in no way denotes a greater co-operation between either the casinos or the affiliate programs who support them. It was a high level decision to try gain a return on potentially wasted traffic by leverage another’s licenses.
- We have heard your concerns and are currently looking at how to switch this off for affiliates who don't want their traffic sent to WS.

2. Carmen Media was not sold to Digimedia
- About 2 years ago the brands supported by Referback entered into a licensing agreement with Digimedia not an ownership agreement. With the cost of various licenses it made sense to 'share' in an existing license rather than apply for a new stand alone.
- Again this shared license in no way denotes any kind of day-to-day business co-operation. Referback and Fortune have no ties other than both being rivals for placements on your site. Yes that right I want more placements with you feel free to pm or email me (shane@referback.com) ;)

In short Referback continues to be the sole affiliate program for a suite of top notch online casinos. We work tirelessly to grow our portfolio of new players and increase the monthly earnings of our affiliate partners - it is business as usual!

Hi Shane,

Can you answer these questions for me?

Why did Carmen Media bale out and move from their offices in Europort on the 5th floor ( The former offices for the Ladbrokes Call Center ) and up sticks to Malta in 2011?

Does Tim Johnson still have a controlling interest in Carmen Media?

Why does John Holmes Linked In profile state that Carmen Media sold it's brands ie their casinos, to a Maltese based concern, if as you are suggesting no ownership was transferred?

Do the Palace Group ( or their parent company Win Technologies, or Win Technologies parent company Marzen Limited, or their parent company City Views Limited, which is incorporated in Belize ) have any ownership in either what was/is Carmen Media or the brands that they operated prior to 2011, ie Lucky Nugget, Gaming Club, etc etc?

Thanks!

I rarely post anything like this in public my concern with these 3 programs sharing licenses makes me question what other data is being shared. At one point I was getting $70,000 a month in deposits from Spanish Players on one of these Microgaming casinos , I want them to come back to me again to find a new place to play rather than being flipped over and me not getting any commission from them.
