Ranking Checker - SERPS - What do you use?

ahref is not accurate. Same for other tools like this (eg majestic). I block their annoying bots so no data from my end. And as I heard around, a lot of webmasters do it (block).

You may not always know what you rank for, or where... You may be getting a lot of hits for you site based off the keyword 'Asian porn' due to spam or a spam site linking to yours... Maybe you do search and find your site but you can't search for everything yourself..

if you were ranking for weird stuff you'd notice in WMT i reckon. I only search for what I want to rank for though. I always use chrome for general web work, then delete all history and cookies etc and use firefox for search checking. Doing it this way it is very important to never go on any other sites of click sites it the search so you never get google thinking for you

Aw yes well WMT is a rankings checker of sorts.. I would consider it apart of my tools when checking what I rank for. I however limit my exposure to Google services when I can

I actually just done a comparison on a site with ahrefs DR of 56, and another of 44... the DR56 get's 35-40 real daily visits and the 44 get's around 4,000 however in the eyes of many who use these tools they would see the DR56 as the most succseful go figure.. there are literally billions of keywords and combos that most of these tools will never pick up on, most of us know what we want to rank for which is the most important.. many claim to be able to see someones traffic or best keywords using this method it's all misleading

I look at SEM rush once in awhile. It seems pretty accurate.

I posted this on gpwa a while back https://moz.com/rand/traffic-prediction-accuracy-12-metrics-compete-alexa-similarweb/ SEM rush for me personally is way off compared to my actual analytics, again it's like most others the same amount of popular keywords fed into the system 80 million in total.. however google registers 3.5 billion queries daily.. that's not accuracy to me

Inkognito mode in Chrome, and then I search and check manually. I used to use dedicated tracking tools, but I don't bother with it any more. I check visitor stats daily however.

I tried a lot of SEO tools, for me Majestic is definitely the winner. Accurate stats and I really like their backlink checker.
