Got email from Pokerstars that if i dont bring ''every'' month one customer they will not pay any comission on any players brought before

Just dont have the email on hand ... but i guess there are some who got the same email

its just spreading around that everyone is claiming we need to bring in news ... thats a bit disapointing, if you just dont want or can promote a room anymore they trying to shave you :(

This practice is destroying the revenue sharing model completely.

This is one of the reasons we dropped so many mediocre groups from our website ,practically all programs are introducing quotas and to retain our 35-40% revenue share in future we stopped taking on new programs and removing the non performing groups. We are left with 10-15 programs compared to about 90 in 2006-2007.

I believe they have it stated somewhere under their T&Cs... none the less its BS rule which will only lose them affiliates. But I guess they don't give a rats ass being num 1 poker room in the world, and spending millions on TV ads and other events.

Receive a similar mail on 23 november :

Dear xxxxxx, xxxxxxx,

We are writing to let you know that we noticed that you have not sent any real money players (RMP) in October 2013.

As per section 5.5 of our terms and conditions, affiliates are required to deliver a minimum of 1 RMP per month in order to continue to receive revenue share earnings.

You may wish to have a look at our program Terms and Conditions page located on our website at:

https://www.pokerstarspartners.com/public/about/termsAndConditions.html

To ensure that your account remains open, you are required to send 1 RMP in November. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help in your efforts to generate new real money players to prevent any impact to your account.

If your account was already closed with us in the past, please disregard this email. Also, please note we cannot re-open accounts that have already been closed.

Regards,

The PokerStars Partners Team

As a well known and popular poker room this clause makes it even harder for small affiliates. But regardless, if a program signs you up to life time revenue, then that's exactly what you should receive. This changing of T&C's at the affiliate program's whim is total crap. I believe they do it because they think no one will take legal action.

By my count 80% of all webmasters are small or medium affiliates, and many of them -most of the small- will be striked down by this term.

This is the result if some people are not to be able to get enough.

Sometimes I hang my head in shame when I see what's going on in the industry, and if you look closely you can see, the intervals of new incredibilities will be shorter.

Yet more examples of disgusting behaviour by companies in this industry. It seems minimum player quotas is becoming the norm now, and as a lot of affiliates have suggested it's a strategy for companies to remove small affiliates and only deal with the big guys. It's funny though, I was once a small affiliate and I had the odd account shut for inactivity. Now we've got some massive sites and a lot of traffic and I do get some of these companies from 6-7 years ago crawling back to me and asking for ad space, to which I bluntly tell them where to stick it. You might fool me once, but you won't fool me twice!

I so feel what you say here, i also am small now, but with a great prospect in the future and i already see this, the thieves giving me the shaft before for all sorts of reason, quotas, low player value, now come back to ask for a spot.

companies have short memories. Affiliates have long ones. ;)

I had a sportsbook come back to me saying "well, we did do bad things in the past, but that was our old affiliate managers who have now left, and we're new and we're trying to build the affiliate relationships again".....

to which I replied the obvious - Foxtrot Oscar!

Affiliate lounge did this with me but without informing to me by e-mail, and when i ask them to tell me why they close my account without informing to me they say: you should have received this e-mail in the past, but i did not received,
I notice now this behave from companies cause i am a new affiliate but i think this is something that build partner ship.
