Playshare Shaves?

My thoughts:

Are they shaving only Mojo to get back at her for what happened a year ago? Or are they screwing all of their affiliates?

The backstory, as I remember it:

  1. Mojo had a big winner that created a negative balance.
  2. Playshare didn't want to honor their no-negative carryover policy.
  3. To avoid paying Mojo, Playshare introduced a retroactive high roller clause.
  4. Mojo, rightfully pissed, complained about this publicly for about a year.
  5. Finally, Playshare agreed to honor the original deal.
  6. Mojo was paid the correct amount (as far as I know).
But now it seems like they may have manipulated her stats to punish her -- to recoup the money they didn't want to pay her in the first place!

I suppose there could be a reasonable technical explanation, but from where I'm sitting, it looks like revenge....

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. I always appreciated Mojo sticking her neck out for us and wish we saw more of her here. This news sucks about PS and I imagine this stuff to be quite widespread. Math is easy with computers and scripts to rob us have got to be pretty easy to create. I suggest moving into other verticals. There is a train robbery going on in this industry.

I'm not suggesting getting out of online gaming, I'm suggesting you all work very diligently at diversifying and I don't mean to online bingo. With some programs you are better off selling office supplies.

I think that would be a very risky move IF PS would have done that, on the other hand every deposit was accounted for (at 50% t.i.) so I have some good hope it is a technical error.

BTW if I can not trust this group anymore I am history.

Nothing surprises me anymore in this industry. With the exception of a handful of programs, I wouldn't be surprised to find out we are all earning about 25% of what we should really earn bc of shaving. That's just what my gut tells me is happening nowadays.

I wonder who is doing the shaving here. Is it the aff program or microgaming keeping their operators fat during tough times? I wouldn't buy any technical glitch excuse. I don't know anything about programming, but I know when you write a program to do a task it does just that doesn't it?

You know what would be quite good fun? To get and retain a small pool of players (who aren't known as affs) and chuck them some money to test this stuff out for us. The players would appreciate the freebies, we'd be able to regularly test the programs.

Just an idea for discussion.

I too think that shaving is going on big time these days.

I haven't collected proof, but I am starting to remove suspects.

I also think shaving is going on regular now days with many programs and that really sucks but I hold out hope that Playshare is not doing this.

without a doubt. I stopped investing any time and effort in this industry long ago.

1. How are you going to make sure the players deposit all the money you give them to test with? Been there and done that, with this approach. You don't expect the players to shave, but they do.

2. When you catch one of these outfits shaving(and you will), what are you/we/us going to do about it? This is a serious question, that needs some serious thought...
Blacklists don't really work and If your going to go public... well, we've all seen the results of that kind of thing and it is never very pretty. Our options are limited and none of them are very good.

I agree that Simmo's idea is a good one and needed, but I also know from doing the CAP audit that players may keep some of the funds just like some of the affiliate/testers we had did so it's a legit concern.

That whole thing was flawed and in the past I think if we come up with a system it can work. We just ran a test on Playshare and it tracked perfect. We then went back to 3 players we know used our banner with no doubt and asked their 3 months worth of deposits they made and they all checked out correctly.

You know I'm always happy if your happy Vix :)

Looks to me like Dave said...they are singling out Mojo for whatever reasons mentioned.

Just as a side note....you'll see about a 30% difference from the amount owed on the top left as to the amount owed on the bottom right from my affiliate account. It's a monthly thing. Looks like I am set at about a 30% deduct per month.

We're all getting screwed & we all know it.
Some of us have proof that things are not Kosher.

Most try to settle these issues behind closed doors with the program - 9 times out of 10 the program will lie, contradict themselves and use any means to turn it around onto the affiliate. If all this fails and the affiliate threatens to go public, the "we will freeze you account" if you do, gets pulled from the draw.

Some may yank the program and start fresh. Whilst others figure something is better than nothing continue to promote them because the casino group conveniently has a "send us x number of players" FU clause.

Affiliates are f#cked either way.

However some of us are just sick and tired of living on our knees. And whilst speaking out may risk our income, there comes a time when enough is enough. For me that time is now!

Just so everyone is aware I plan to blow the whistle on what I have on Fortune Lounge Group!

Frankly I've been trying to get my issue sorted since Sept 2010. The way they've chosen to act is deplorable. No scruples here my friends, they've even used my disability to try and beat this rap.

Cheers

:)

I can not wait to see them post info about how this happened ... course I doubt they ever will post any such info. I can think of no technical glitch which would deduct 50% of deposits - and only does so for certain affiliates - none that aren't intentional!

Its sad that I cant trust programs that I have sent millions to over the years, but these days I don't. I cant help but think I'm getting cheated at every corner and AussieDave - you're correct - there isn't a damn thing any of us can do about it and the programs know that.
