I was considering promoting Paddy Power on my sports betting website so I had a look at their affiliate terms and conditions and its shocking that they are able to get away with these conditions.

The big condition is that they can cancel your affiliate affiliate agreement with 7 days notice without having to give any reason whatsoever.

They can alter the terms of your affiliate agreement any time they wish and you have no recourse.

If someone signs up to the sportsbook through your affiliate link you will not receive earnings from other products such as poker, casino, bingo, ect.

You have to display their most recent banners prominently on your website at all time or they can cancel your affiliate agreement.

If you want to make layout changes to your website you have to seek their permission.

You have to provide them with the passwords to your website so they can monitor your website unrestricted whenever they wish.

You have to agree to give them access to all your financial records relating to your business.

If you promote their signup bonus to your website visitors they can cancel your affiliate agreement if the people you refer don't use their website after the bonus has been redeemed which you have no control over.

If people who are restricted from signing up to their website based on their location come from your website then the affiliate agreement can be cancelled. You can't control who views your website!

If you go one calendar month without referring someone to Paddy Power they can reduce your commission or simply cancel your affiliate agreement.

*I have read elsewhere that their cookies are only for that session meaning that someone has to sign up directly after clicking your affiliate link or you lose that customer. Most competitors use a 30 day cookie.

I've been promoting them since 2010 - but I haven't re-visited their T&Cs since then.
If those ARE their current, highly predatory terms - I will be giving them the boot ASAP!

Probably is right - would partly explain why I only made $105 from them in 2012... and only $21 in TOTAL for the other 5 years added together!
What a useless waste of time & web-space they are!

I think it's time for me to scrap my "Playtech Casinos" page and just add the last few half-decent ones onto my "Miscellaneous minor Softwares" page...

I have seen them promoted on a few decent size affiliate websites in the UK and I really don't know why they are giving any business to this bookmaker even if they are really starting to grow substantially in the UK and they basically dominate the Irish domestic market but they are losing a lot of business to Bet365 in both these areas.

Recently I read a post elsewhere from an affiliate whose website I am familiar with where he said that his referred customers had a net revenue for the previous 12 months of £105,000 and Paddy Power charged him fees of £90,000 giving him an effective commission rate of 14%

I've been referring players to PP for around 6 months at a volume of 15FTD's a month.

When I saw that they do not do a channel cross over etc I must admit I was very sceptical.

The reason I continue to refer players to them is because they are good at keeping players active and for this month already I'm on £706 which to me is a decent amount of money as I promote around 8 different bookmakers and I'm relatively new to the business.

I looked at the "Big Boys" to see which companies they work with prior to applying with them and took a punt.

Ok for a quick fix in money but if they start any nonsense I'll be removing them.

My priority is signing up Bet365, Betfair and Ladbrokes then the ones I'm not 100% sure about like PP get around half of the above 3, just box clever and don't put all your eggs into one basket is my opinion.

I think I've got a whale on PP it's generated £3500 to them so far this month and as I said earlier I don't really give them many players. As some one pointed out to me earlier I think it's best just to promote the ones that are paying you well but don't give them all the new customers. Try and balance it out and look after the ones that are paying the most favourably.

Paddy Power are one of the worst for retaining customers and generating good rev share, only reason most big affiliates promote is due to the CPA deals. They do somehow though have one of the largest market shares, and in the Betfair merger they were considered more valuable than Betfair.

Do you think the merge will affect any commissions etc with current betfair affiliates?
