We all know there have been some pains moving to the new forum.. but I suspect many of you have found some of the niceties of the forums as well. Things like speed, notifications, conversations are nice (to me).

HOWEVER - This thread is more about what you want CHANGED.

Please let me know ANYTHING you would like for version 2.0. I am going to commission some changes and I would like to do it all at once so that I don't have to spend $5k when I might have to spend $3k. Even if it was said before - please let me know.

thanks.

Hi Andy,
The new version is very nice. Appreciate it. Very much better than older one. I am little not okay with the font size. You can resize the pages to small fonts still. The posts and forum looks too big and the menu bar is too small. Second suggestion is, highlight the latest news on the home page. like it was before. :) everything else is too good. :)

Please let me know where the fonts are small. They are pretty normal sized to me. I've looked in 3 browsers and several resolutions, so let me know: Operating System, Browser and Version, Screen Resolution. I will see if I can replicate. I'm not sure what you mean by the menu bar is too small either. Maybe a screenshot will help.

Second suggestion is, highlight the latest news on the home page. like it was before.
The latest posts are on the homepage. I think all content there is correct - I fixed the page last night.

It would be nice to see a post count next to the person that has posted in a thread. In some cases,
the post count is an easy indication on the authority of the person posting, or if they are just making
a post to spam something, slander someone, etc. One good example was the Rival post that was
removed, after it became obvious that the post wasn't coming from who they actually claimed to be.

I agree with NDG as it helps determine regular forum users from the rest.

I also think if you could add the title of the forum that the post was posted under in 'New Posts' it would help.

I still have not gotten one email from the new AGD forum.. IDK what's up with that I've checked all my settings..

Other then those, I am getting used to the new forum and am starting to like it a bit more :)

Good ideas everyone. I can certainly do a membership criteria. I may want to grandfather a bunch of longtimers, though :)

I like everyone suggestions so far as well.

We talked about what I would like to see with the homepage so beyond that I think that have both "like" and "Agree" options is a little weird. I think one or the other would give it more weight, socially that is :)

Yeah, 'like' and 'agree' are a bit weird. I did like the 'thanks' button that VBulletin have. That's a nice simple way of saying 'thank you' without having to write a whole comment.

The other thing is that I'd like to see the date/time of posting at the top of each post rather than at the bottom. That way I can ignore threads that are brought back from the dead by those tiresome people who occasionally come through trying to increase their post count by commenting on things from 3 years ago :)

Removed the advanced post ratings system. Now it is back to simple 'like' ;)

I don't disagree, will look into that one.

On thing I love that is missing is the ability to see the first paragraph of the first post of a thread by mousing over the thread title. Right now, the decision on viewing a thread has to be made entirely on the thread title and (on any forum) often it's not that helpful.

Unread topics do not disappear as they used to at vbulletin. It appears that I need to click each thread instead of just refreshing the browser. Perhaps you want to change this again.

Another idea... I think it might look nice to have various forum icons again instead of just the same speech bubbles all over.

And... the small rating icons for each affiliate program need a mouse over with a brief explanation so they can be directly understood.

The new posts link on the homepage doesn't work any more ("Todays Posts"), just FYI!

"This thread is more about what you want CHANGED."

The possibility of switching signature on/off before posting?

Can we make the like post list not another click. It's easier just to display them.

It's also quite difficult to PM someone. Start a Conversation is quite confusing to me :(

Also I think it may ahve been mentioned, but how about post date and time displayed at the top of the post. It's quite hard to find.

My 2c

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by confusing.. I think 'Start a Conversation' is simple and easy. :(

Date/Time is there now.
