Hello guys,

I am creating a casino affiliate website. I'd like to know if it's possible for me to marketing the following way:
  • Offering users Megaupload or Rapidshare account or other stuffs when they join the casinos.
  • Mass email to all of our members that they can support us by joining the casinos. Of course, once only!
  • Stealing news and articles from other sites but CLEARLY state where it's coming from? Some sites say you can't then I won't do it. But most sites didn't say anything. Like google BOT, if they didn't say anything I grab the contents and clearly state the source.
I am thinking of doing this affiliate business for years. So I don't want to do anything stupid.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hey Danny,

Welcome to AffiliateGuardDog.com!

You have some interesting questions :) Most affiliates have a fairly good set of ethics and their mindsets are fairly common. I'll take each one of your points and put what I feel is the best answer based upon a common thought.

I think that most players will not utilize the free membership to something like MegaUpload and Rapidshare, however, you may find a small base of players that will like the idea. I think it is an excellent thought and certainly an 'out of the box' idea. Kudos for that - keep thinking of unique 'catches' and you will likely be successful on some level.

Make sure you get a strict double opt-in email from your user base before sending out such emails. Casino emails are largely thought of as spam and you can certainly get in some trouble for not utilizing double opt-ins. Keep track of the information as well for verification purposes.

Using RSS feeds is acceptable in some circumstances (typically the use of any feed requires you to leave in their links and give them credit for the news). Please see the Terms and Conditions for any RSS Feed you are considering using on your site.

Using content from other sites other than syndicated feeds is theft and I know many casino affiliates who would file a lawsuit in your jurisdiction for copying their material.

All websites have their own material that they work very hard to create. Many are extremely vigilant in defending that copy. It is unethical/immoral to steal their content for your personal use and profit.

Thanks Guard Dog,

I got the idea now, especially the last question.

In that case, I only use syndicated feeds from websites and contents from wikipedia or open source.

Like the rest of the affiliates here, I don't like spamming and copying. However, as human being we are likely to push to the absolute limit.

Anyway, many thanks.

I couldn't believe there is a site like this, helping affiliates. Normally, affiliates fight one another :(. The best section I found here is BAD affiliate programs.

We should work together to eliminate them :) and spammers as well.

That's exactly what we are here for :) To help in any way we can.. There will be a lot more action in the next revision of the forums as well, so look for a whole lot of information (including SEO Help, Affiliate Training, and more) in the future.

Thanks for letting us help :)
