What does everyone think of Mr. Green's new site?

When you arrive on the site now, the first thing you need to do is pick a country.

IMO, this step should not even be necessary. The better thing to do would be to detect the country and send the visitor to their country-specific page, and if they want to change the language, let them do that by clicking a flag at the top of the page.

Once you choose a country, you land on a subdomain called storefront.mrgreen.com. At this point, you might expect to see which games are available, but this is not the case. Instead, you can read about the history of slots, roulette, etc, or you can hand over your email address. There are 6 slots listed on the "storefront" homepage, with a link to view more, but that link just takes you to another signup page.

I think it feels way too pushy and aggressive now, and I don't think visitors are going to like it.

Does anyone think forcing people to hand over their email address before showing them anything useful may actually improve conversions?

Would you ever hide your own content behind a login screen? Maybe it's worth doing an experiment, but my instinct tells me it would be a bad idea and that most people would just leave.

I don't so much mind the first page, but after I select my country.. I don't care to much for the storefront page... It doesn't have that casino look or feel to it... Plus with every extra click I think you lose visitors..

Didn't they just redesign the site a few months ago anyway? Before this new redesign...

This is clearly done for Touchscreens mobile and Ipad in mind. I think bit a shame. If that was for touchscreen and smaller devices then fine. But I don't like the new design for computer. Like you said it does not have feel of casino look and they will lose many signups with this new design.

I don't like it. They were one of the casino's with the best design, now it's some Casumo clone to me. For touchscreen this may be perfect, but for me on my desktop or laptop it isn't. I don't like it. Also if I have a look at Garbo, many functionalities and information seem to be even missing.

I don't like it either. Like everyone else here, I see it as mobile themed and looks horrible on desktops, which is most of my customer base. Also, lots of missing (to me, anyway) information, ie. bonus t&c isn't available prior to sign up.

I don't really like that I have to login or create an account to get passed the first page in other to access the casino and check out the game.

They have converted 3/5 of crap-all for me over the last 4 years away - so I don't care what they do to their site :p

But one thing I really hate, is any site which tries to get you to sign-up before being able to browse around or try the games in fun mode: I'm convinced this will "scare off" players, rather than encourage sign-ups... :(

I foresee a website change in their future... I'm not a fan of this at all. It is way too limiting for the casino industry. There is nothing that unique about any casino that they can get away with limiting their exposure and possible new customer base. Colossal mistake, IMO.

I'm not a fan of the new design either. Take the player directly to the casino where you
entice them with the free bonus, the selection of games, and current promotions.

I agree, as a player I want to visit the main page and look around before inputting any information!

Looks like after almost 3 weeks time Andy manage to fix problem with my account - Thanks for that!

Regarding new site itself:

I want to reassure our players and affiliates, that we at Mr Green have just taken our first steps in a long journey to rebuild, and reinvent all our products.
To paraphrase another famous gentleman, “We have a dream… of being the best online casino in the world”, and we need a whole new platform on which to base this vision. This means retiring our old website, a website that has served us well for 8 years now and starting something new and exciting.
We must look forward towards the next generation of online casino entertainment with the modern casino player in mind and based upon the support/feedback from a selection of casino players from each of our markets.
It can be unsettling, but this change is just the start of something we think is going to be amazing and we are very excited about what lies ahead. So why not join us in our journey and let us know what you think over the months to come?

PS. IGT slots was not working for the first few days on the new site, but now they are back to our casino

PS.2 KK As always thank you for you repetitive comment! ;-)
