Hi all,

I have a question about affiliate programs with negative carry over. Is this a no go for you? I am thinking about giving it a go with one operator because it is the biggest and most popular one in our country, but they do have a negative carry-over to the next month....

Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Well, it is not bet365, but I was on the same line of thinking. However I do find it kind of a rip off that they let us do the work to get new client but if there is a downside we pay for it right away. I put it a bit on the same level as the 5% rule parties like Wiliam Hill are using.

Well, it's not exactly correct that you pay for it. They pay for it, you just don't earn as if nothing happened. In any case - I work with 1-2 programs with NCO. Not very happy about it, but needed them to cover certain aspects.

Anyway - I wouldn't send big portion of my traffic there. Also, see if there is some way around it. maybe CPA or hybrid?

Thanks, that could be a nice one: try CPA or hybrid. I don't have CPA or hybrid at all at the moment.

Swings and roundabouts with them all, here's an example of what's happened with two accounts last month with me.

Ladbrokes & Paddy Power

Ladbrokes account was minus £1800 for the first time ever and they DO have a NCO but pay me a healthy 40% Rev share....

Paddy Power account was minus £2,000 for the first time ever and they DO NOT operate a NCO but pay me a small 25% with no channel cross over which is poor....

Now this month Ladbrokes is still minus and I don't see it coming into the black for a few months however PP is in a positive of £500 already.

So I guess my advise would be to use the company if you have faith in it and give them as many players as possible to eliminate the chances of a NCO

It seems that in your case the conclusion is exactly opposite? Unless I missed something. To eliminate statistically being in negative you need to send at least 50-100 player for the specific program. Even that won't protect you from this 1 time when a player hits and cashes out 100k.

To be honest - I do the opposite of what you say. sending most of my traffic to NCO program seems too risky business-wise. One lucky player and my biggest income generator is gone, at least for some time. In terms of risk/reward - it doesn't add up.

Yes of cause that is a factor but I'm sending this companies 30-50 FTD's each a month as well as 5/6 other programmes.

The chances of somebody Winning 100k on sports is neon impossible.

My biggest minuses in 12 months were that of last month.

Ah. Sports - you right. But since Josh3130 is into casino, the odds are much higher.

Yes, I have 1 as far as I remember, but I just needed them for certain games and they were the best option. And I barely send them traffic.

Exactly my point, one big winner who cashes out and that income is gone. I can imagine it is a different game with sports betting....

The last big NCO that I was hit with cost me more than 2 years of revenue from an affiliate program, so now I avoid joining new programs with a NCO.

Ouch... got hit in Jan with a huge whale on a NCO site. One more month to go before it starts earning again... unless the winning whale returns.

NCO you've got to take the hits with the operator.

Yes, in this business are big whales important - they want to win big and they are able to bet big. You have to count on it..

I agree I think the only program worth its sort on NCO is Bet365, although a pal of mine has been stung with a £40,000 nco with them
