With the recent news of certain affiliate programs 'offshooting' the US player base into another casino, how do you see your stats going?

I set up a poll, but please write your information out as well. Since it seems the topic really hasn't been broached, I felt we need to have a real discussion about what we are all seeing.

FOR ME:

I had some huge players that haven't played since MGS closed down certain states (NY mainly). I also had a couple good quality players from other states that have continued to play on the casinos.

Since those players were moved to the 'US friendly' (and knocked down) version of Microgaming software, I've gotton a whopping $75 in deposits.

It's been an utter failure for me and I am unsure if it is because my big players were not properly tagged or if they just don't want to play.

I did ask for the list of players since I do know their names, but was not provided that information ;( The reason I asked was to ensure that all players were properly mapped over.

My commissions have taken a major a nose dive since this shell game started and I can not understand why - other than to speculate that this is exactly what the programs wanted.

The stress is starting to mount ... my family has come to expect a certain amount of money every month - heck its been there month in and month out for 10 years - for it to cease to exist practically over night is real shocker.

I am hoping and praying that things turn around real soon.

Brightshare seems to have mapped my players properly. Brightshare earnings are down by roughly the same amount I see in the new All Slots USA program.

Vegas Affiliates still hasn't completed the job. :( (Come on guys, please get this done ASAP.) I'm seeing earnings of $0 this month. Apparently all of the players there were US based, and they've been removed from the existing stats.

The Red Returns and Fortune Affiliates offshoots are showing very low earnings, but the earnings at the original aff programs are about the same. I must have had only one or two US players left at those programs.

Rewards didn't split anything off; my earnings there haven't changed. US players are using the watered down software, but earnings are being tracked in the current affiliate system.

I'm surprised about how few seem to care about this :( Only 4 votes? Not many views and not many responses.

This, IMO, is a huge issue. Our players were, in several cases, transferred to another affiliate program. We certainly should all be paying very close attention to how the player value is changing.

I agree it is HUGE and FWIW, I'm not so sure how "independant" these new casinos / affiliate programs really are. IMO that entire SpinSpark issue is more than a bit peculiar.

Additionally, I think the chances that all our earnings start to dwindle is pretty good considering the fact that these new casnios have stated they will not accept new players and that they are not promoting to non-active accounts.

I'm going to start contacting some of my players to see what their experience is... from what I have heard thus far most are not very enthused about the changes.

As I said before I think its going to be the end of June/July before we truly start to see what affect this has or will have on us as affiliates. I think the affect is stil inconclusive as we havent had enough data to consider.

Umm doesn't that make you suspicious already?

---------

In response to the poll I didn't really market to USA players. Well not since pre 2004 back to 2000. I don't think I have any US players. Or if I did they aren't there anymore.

However I will say that I'm down in my aff earnings. Which are for MG casinos. One whale's cut her spending by 3/4 and the other has gone MIA for the past 2 or 3 months.

Overall deposits per player have also been heavily hit too. I was averaging around $1,500 per player, per month. Now that's down to around $300 per player. If it wasn't for the Whale I'd be really f#cked.

---------

What concerns me about this, looking at the wider picture, and I can't shake the thought, after the Grand Prive` fiasco I'm concerned other aff programs may think they can get away with this too.

And if they did try this on, what would affiliates do this time round. Can they do anything or are we just screwed if this happens?

Cheers

Dave

I am waiting til next month for judgement - a lot of players were very turned off with the original stripped version and quit IMO.

Now that a better version of the software has been out for a bit, last week has started bringing a little better results, and I think perhaps next month it will become better yet.

Waiting for everyone to get their paychecks and revisit... retention efforts seem to be good all over.

I see this as a valid concern and one that we should keep a very close eye on.

The programs have moved all our players to a supposed independent program, though I'm still not convinced of that. If the new programs decided to stiff affiliates - the original programs would claim they are totally innocent.

All our players would be gone and I've got a funny feeling the second the original casinos started accepting US players again that the entire original database turn up and would be promoted to without any ties to affiliates.

Sure its just a speculative nightmare, but maybe we should expect the worst while hoping for the best. After all we were all left out in the dark for most of this process ...

It's not that I don't care, of course I do!
But I never check my stats until AFTER the end of the month. Even then I don't usually go deep enough to look where players live, and in any event most of my MG stats each month are usually $0 anyway! :(

I'll vote if/when I have June's stats.

There is only one I really pay attention to (VA) and I am down 80% in deposits from last month. Hopefully they can tell us something soon.

I did just check RA too and my stats look normal there which is expected, Renee is always on the ball.

Yeah I didn't vote because VA is all I pay attention to also - and there are no stats to check that I'm aware of.

edited to add, just checked Rewards, and my earnings are actually up :D

I've noticed a drop in U.S. deposits/income from my U.S. players across all software brands, not just Microgaming. Some programs I'm making the same as any other month. Quite a few I see a big drop in. But this includes RTG casinos as well. Some of my MGS programs have dropped, some not.

Considering that before June 1st I could make a deposit myself, at any online casino with the credit cards I had available, and after June 1st I found that my cards are declined at the ones I've tried so far, I tend to think the problem isn't the stripped down MGS software, but UIGEA. I think U.S. players are not all able to deposit as easily as before. Some can't deposit by credit card at all, like myself. Take a look at Casinomeisters, and other player forums and I think you'll see posts from players asking how they can deposit now. Heck, my credit card is even declining at UseMyWallet now. It didn't used to.

I don't know for sure that this drop we've noticed is from U.S. players credit cards being declined, but I think that is definitely playing a part in this.
