login problems at BrightShare ?

I've tried to log into my account several times today, only to receive the message "Wrong Password"

The password is not wrong as I've been using the same password for quite sometime now.

I contacted support and was told that they're experiencing some technical issues with the cookies.

Is anyone else unable to log into their account?

This is especially frustrating since it is the second time that I've experienced this same exact problem within 12 months.

Also, is this issue affecting the accuracy of my clickthroughs?

I'm still unable to login. I spoke to a number of affiliates, and none of them are having login problems.. just my account.. and this is the second time that this has happened. Is someone from BrightShare going to resolve this issue so that it doesn't happen again?

Is this problem current? if so clear cookies open a new page and retry. I know for most affs the problem has been fixed.

However, there may be an entirely separate secondary issue which may or may not have to do with BS.

For me to explain it would take up a few pages lol.

I had problems viewing my stats earlier, but after I cleared the cookies and the cache, closed all browser windows, and then restarted the browser, everything seemed to work fine.

Hi Guys. Thanks for your advice. I'm glad to hear that it's not just a problem with my account. I followed your advice and cleared all cookies and the cache files, restarted the computer and tried to log in via firefox, internet explorer, opera and netscape... but no luck. The last time it happened, it took BS a few days to fix it. I hope they fix it soon.

Hey Oz as of right now I can login but my banner and link stats are reset to zero.

Now I'm having that problem again. Clearing cookies and cache and restarting the browser doesn't solve the problem this time.

Edit: Strange, now it works. :confused:

Indeed weird... I can login but my stats are zero while others can not even login. A hit a miss type thing.

Hi Everyone,

First apologies to everyone affected by the timeout/login/blocking issues and thanks to all of you for providing us with the insights into the problem - this is very helpful.

We are working on the problem. We have identified a few problem areas that seem to be participating with each other to make things more complicated for us. The problem areas:

1. Not seeing reports - timeout - while requesting reports affiliates are in some cases receiving a timeout from the affiliate software. This is been tackled in two ways: Increasing the timeout buffer and report generation memory (done already) and looking for ways to generate reports without having to pull the data each time from the software (will be worked on next week).

2. Not seeing banner stats on earnings reporting, or viewing one month successful but then not being able to view another month - this is related to the changes that are being working on with regards to the timeout issue and because the data is coming from both the software and banner server further work needs to be done here to ensure that the full reporting data is pulled (not just the software data)

3. error 500 that prevents affiliates from seeing anything that has brightshare.com in the URL (the site and all banners and links served by Brightshare) - this seems to be some type of participation between the timeout script and our IT security which I think is recognizing a timedout affiliate as an intruder and therefore blocking the affiliate - not nice at all.

Update

DBAs fixed the reporting issue and we checked the issue and it looks ok now.
IT did not spot any blocking by modesecurity on the BS site.
That is all for now. Please inform us of any additional issues if they occur.
