I'm running quality assurance on a newly finished site and testing aff links in this process. After the Flash demo games and some of these reporting as DirectRequest (aka typein url's), I'm going over my 32Red aff links with a fine-tooth-comb. I landed on 32Red with UK language and $AUD currency. However it should report as Australia and $AUD. No fuss, maybe it's my IP. Anyway, I select Australia in the drop down and this is what I was greeted with when it changed: hyyp://au.32red.com/?pid=DirectRequest

After Rewards Affiliates/Casino Rewards straight links and direct typein_url fiasco, I'm super paranoid when I see identical references displayed from any of my affiliate link url. It's extremely annoying and it would be nice if a rep from 32Red came and answered this question and the one for the flash demo games too! Is anyone else getting this result?

Also is there anyway I can tell if my affiliate tag is being passed? Some casinos you can view your aff tag in the source code.

Closed 32Red, cleared FF cache/cookies. Tried the link again and this time viewed 32Red home page source code.

Found this in the footer. Albeit it's the QR code for Mobiles but WTF? DirectRequest!!!

directrequest.png

If I refer a player to 32Red or any other casino then it should be tracking. Should NOT be seeing "DirectRequest" ID's, Direct_typein or reference to indicate my referred player is registering as a Direct Typein etc. etc...

Hi Bet4You,

As with the other thread, I will happily check this out for you. We work hard to ensure affiliate codes are tracked throughout the site, if there is a problem it needs to be fixed asap. Perhaps it will be easier to chat through the journey you are taking on Skype? Let me know and I will PM my SkypeID.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

I can tell you guys work hard to ensure the tracking is site wide just by the above script.

I'd rather it posted here in AGD if there is or is not a problem.

I tested a couple flash game links the other day and again last night.

I'm in the USA so its pretty hard to test the games throughly but it seems the newer games like Dark Night populate the qs variable and the Btag variable in the cookie whereas an older game like What on Earth just writes the qs variable and btag remains at the default DirectRequest.

In the case of Dark Night the pid in the loadqr function above is populated with correct pid where as a game like What on Earth still says DirectRequest.

I haven't looked into it yet but I'd like to set up a campaign in NetRefer, anyone know how to do this off the top of their head?

Hi Slotplayer,

I have no problem posting if there was a problem here, the issue is that I can't replicate it. If you or Bet4You want to go through the steps on Skype with me so I can try and replicate - I just think that would be quicker than a 20 post thread. :)

Cheers

I don't have Skype so that not an option.

I took a couple of screens of the cookie after launching the 2 games, taken from Media > Category > Text-Links-Text Links - Direct Games.

The first screen is the cookie for Dark Knight Rises, the second for What on Earth. (of course I clear the cookie before and after)

You can see the difference in the btags in the very bottom next to Content:

I think the op's question is whether this is tracking correctly?

Hi Slotplayer,

Thanks for the reply and detailed screenshots. Are you able to replicate on any other game? No matter what I do I can't replicate.

Technically here is how it works...

The affiliate site posts a link to hxxp://www.32red.com/launchflash.php with the gameid, language and any affiliateid. This php script then generates the microgaming URL for the game.

E.g: hxxp://www.32red.com/launchflash.php?game=TheDarkKnightRises&demo=y&lang=en&pid=BANNERTAGHERE would automatically redirect to the MG URL hxxps://32red.gameassists.co.uk/32red/t3start.asp?BTag=BANNERTAGHERE&gameID=TheDarkKnightRises&sEXT1=demo&sEXT2=demo.

I've tried loading that URL directly and also via an affiliate link and I keep seeing the same result.

One thought actually, have you tried clearing your flash cache? You can do this by right clicking on any flash content, going to 'Global Settings', 'Advanced' and 'Delete All'. If you have previously signed up on that PC, the BTAG can be stored in flash I think.

As for the other question on languages, I can't see any problem there either. I have cleared cookies, went to hxxp://www.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST (pid is the bannertag variable) and I this is tagged on to every language link as far as I can tell from the code...

PHP:
<ul id='languageDropDown'><li><a href='http://www.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='English (UK)' class='flag_uk' /><span>English (UK)</span></a></li><li><a href='http://au.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='English (AU)' class='flag_australia' /><span>English (AU)</span></a></li><li><a href='http://ca.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='English (CA)' class='flag_canada' /><span>English (CA)</span></a></li><li><a href='http://www.32red.it/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Italiano' class='flag_italy' /><span>Italiano</span></a></li><li><a href='http://www.32red.com/jp/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='日本語' class='flag_japan' /><span>日本語</span></a></li><li><a href='http://www.32red.com/de/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Deutsch' class='flag_germany' /><span>Deutsch</span></a></li><li><a href='http://chinese.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='中文 (繁體)' class='flag_china' /><span>中文 (繁體)</span></a></li><li><a href='http://francais.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Français (CA)' class='flag_canada' /><span>Français (CA)</span></a></li><li><a href='http://espanol.32red.com/?pid=LANGTEST'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Castellano' class='flag_argentina' /><span>Castellano</span></a></li><li><a href='https://32red.gameassists.co.uk/32redzh/t3start.asp?pid=LANGTEST' rel='nofollow'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='中文 (简体字)' class='flag_china' /><span>中文 (简体字)</span></a></li><li><a href='https://32red.gameassists.co.uk/32redru/t3start.asp?pid=LANGTEST' rel='nofollow'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Русско' class='flag_russia' /><span>Русско</span></a></li><li><a href='https://32red.gameassists.co.uk/32redsv/t3start.asp?pid=LANGTEST' rel='nofollow'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Svenska' class='flag_sweden' /><span>Svenska</span></a></li><li><a href='https://32red.gameassists.co.uk/32redpl/t3start.asp?pid=LANGTEST' rel='nofollow'><img src='/images/general/transparent.gif' alt='Polski' class='flag_poland' /><span>Polski</span></a></li>

Any further help would be appreciated in tracking any issue you have spotted.

Thanks
Mark

Sorry just seen the section about the QR code too.

The easiest way to demonstrate how this works is as follows...

1. Clear all cookies.
2. Go to hxxp:// www. 32red. com/?pid=whateveryoulike. (amend the hxxp)
3. Right click on the QR Code and you will see the URL changes to tell the QR code what to post, e.g. in my example it would be: http:// images. 32red. com/images/qr/?pid=whateveryoulike.

Have some fun and try some others:

http:// images.32red. com /images/qr/?pid=abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
http:// images.32red. com /images/qr/?pid=1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

I have not seen anyone in the gaming industry going to this level to protect affiliates. In fact, I have just loaded a competitors site and they blatently have a static QR code.

Again, if I have missed something, please let me know.

Mark

thanks, it seem to be passing the Btag now.

Thanks for letting me know, can I ask what it was that fixed it, just in case anyone else queries it? Was it the flash cache?

I appreciate your help with this.

Thanks Mark and also slotplayer for follow-ups on this :)

Looking back over my post(s), sorry if I was a tad blunt Mark. Nothing personal. I sent Danny (you'll likely know who I am now), screen caps from IE, Chrome, Opera, Safari and Firefox. All accept Firefox were tracking for me.

Cleared cookies and cache of all browsers and went to the extent of rebooting, after each browser test.

All browsers except Firefox (v27.0.1) tracked.
By this stage I was freaking out but with a moment of clarity, fired up the laptop and tested again using Firefox (v27.0.1) on the LT and that tracked everything :)

It seems then my desktop version of Firefox has some bizarre issue where it is not tracking. I don't have any pugins on that which would cause this issue. So right now, I'm clueless to what the problem might be. Not sure if this is an isolated issue or if it's something present with certain settings or something outside of Firefox.

Be good to figure out what that issue is and if it's just me or something which can affected other users too.

Anyone got any idea to what this maybe?

No problem Bet4You, I guess it would be the same query due to the location. :)

One quick thought, have you cleared the cookies on both the au.32red and www.32red sites? It may be that it is storing the DirectRequest on one of the subdomains. If it's not that, I'm stumped lol.

Mark

PS: I'm leaving the office now, I'll pick this up tomorrow if any additional response needed.

It just started working. I tried a few games. I thought maybe the techs did something.

Apart from it being the same IP, both Firefox tests were run on seperate computers. Cookies and cache were cleared on both before the commencement of testing. The work system (not laptop), was tested multiple times and again, cookies and cache was cleared each time. But doing this made no difference.

Using work system & Firefox, visit 32Red.com via my affiliate link - Langauge: English (UK), Currency: AUD ($). Langauge changer link reports ?pid=DirectRequest on all options.

(side issue, my aff link should be directing traffic to Australian landing page and not English UK).

IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari (for windows), all these browsers are tracking and so too is Firefox (v27.0.1) on the laptop.

But my work system (Firefox v27.0.1), is not tracking no matter what I do.
Which is really strange because this browser is used to store other website credentials (logins etc). Albeit I'm not a Firefox boffin but I would have thought if FF is storing "other" site creditials then it should be holding the 32Red tracking too.

Even stranger (granted different casinos use different tracking methods to track affiliate referrers) but Referback is tracking with FireFox on my work system, so too are other casinos I promote. Only seem to be having this tracking (errr non tracking) issue at 32Red.

Yep, no difference. Besides that would only be useful for the flash casino issue. The web-site is giving FF DirectRequests too.

I have FF27.0.1 as well. I tried a couple of landing pages, English, $AU, $CAD and a slots only landing page and all write the cookie and record the click in NetRefer.

I only ever saw that problem when I was looking to replace free flash games.

Was checking some old links and landed on 32Red in FireFox. I certainly haven't done anything BUT now all the language links are tracking and so too are the flash games.

au.32red.com/?pid=NRF_1813_E********************************

Strange, very strange indeed!

When I find tracking not working, then find it working again, I tend to want to know why? So I decided to go check out the source code in FireFox 27.0.1 for both 32red.com and au.32red. In my first post there is the image of the QR (non tracking code)... Well obviously someone has gone in an edited this code cause it's totally different to what is being displayed now:

My OP code image:
directrequest.png

Today's visit to 32Red.com (via my aff link):
32red-com-qrcode.png

Todays visit to au.32Red.com (via Language changer - on my aff link):
au-32red-com-qrcode.png

Apart from au.32Red.com the Mobile QR-Code is not still not tracking on 32Red.com BUT worse, the coding has been completely altered. In addition, the link on all of these mobile QR Codes, directing players to have the App sent to their mobiles (send-mobile-casino.html) is not tracking either. And pulling the javascript (32red.com/mobile/scripts/sendAppAjax.js) on send-mobile-casino.html that doesn't seem to track my affiliate link either.

Changing the page coding, what else am I to think other than the previous coding (my OP) was not tracking as I supected. Adding and since the coding change it still has NOT fixed all the NON Tracking Issues.

With all due respect Mark, I sure hope this issue, is not thought of in the same regard as the straight link Vladi pulled you up over regarding Dash >> 32Red. I recall your reply to that was along the lines of: Oh it's only about 0.01% of people who click that link!
