Hi Folks,
Just about to actually start creating my affliate empire, such as it is, and while I have made quite a few non gambling websites in the past I find checking out the sites of others that so called 'landing pages' rather than what I'd have called a homepage or 'index' in the old days seem to be mostly the go with this kind of thing.

What are you thoughts on that? Do you think multiple domains with just a well designed landing page are better , more effective than say a website or blog with a few pages of added content? I would have thought a landing page that then has a link to a more details site would be the best option, but I fear I am out of touch with what the norm is and moreso what actually works, so any advice is welcome.
TIA.

If you are asking this in relation to building a web site, then I'd say that a content rich site is what you should develop.
A landing page or even a site with just a few pages is probably not going to rank well in this ultra competitive industry.

Thank you. I was thinking of a landing page that was linking to one or more sites catering to specific things such as myslots.net, mypoker.net , mybingo.net for example all coming from myobessisionwithcasinos.net as the main landing page, any merit in this you think, or might as well just have links under the one main index page?

From an SEO point of view, I think it would be best to develop one site with different sections. You want to
become an authority site.. but that is never going to happen if you are spreading content over multiple domains.

Thanks, that is kind of what I was thinking, but being new to things wanted to hear from others regarding that - appreciate the advice.

I also think one bigger site is far better than more smaller ones. Good luck

Instead of trying to reinvent the 'wheel', get a site up and operational. Then learn from that. You can ask questions till the cows come home, but until you actually commence a site, then everything is just hypothetical.

Personally the sites I've built in the past never had a landing page, but I've seen a few from members on here that appear to be just a landing page with links on , rather than what I'd consider a proper site, but they obviously work and they are successful affiliates ( I would assume) so not really trying to reinvent the wheel, just trying to get my head around what works and what doesn't before I spend ages creating a site that can be as successful with bascially one page, although that just seems to simplistic to me, but I'm open to having my mind changed on that one. I'm trying to sort out many different factors like actually having a system where I can get paid here in the UK which seems to be a few swings and roundabouts there with fees etc, and a mountain of ID to prove who you are etc ... I find it frustrating to have to actually ask when I have a lot of experience working within online casinos and also in website creation itself, so I'm not completely green as it were, but just want to map things out prior to creating the actual site so I don't spend months going down the wrong path only to have to do it all again when it turns out it's crap.

I just watched YouTube lol. Once I heard the words "focus on content but don't 9ver do it" I kept mine simple (not that I had advanced skills in website building) also I heard of seo for the first time (had no idea what the heck that meant) but I knew it had to of been important after getting calls from someone saying "today we offer you a one time deal for 300upfront and then just monthly cost of 100 per month" I was like wtf? Lol I haven't made a dime one and some how you expect me as a new customer that is fresh as at making a site to agree?? And I declined the deal and idk perhaps his pricing was justified. However I then googled SEO and found that it was quite important so the website that I knew to be completed at the time had to have more pages added because for the forum there was no option to write SEO so I have now built an extra 60 pages for the casinos we work with and I did this so I could give thier site it's own description from my point of view. Then I took it one step further and added an affiliate/subaffiliation program but that part isn't complete at this stage until I find the key of how the information auto-up dates to prevent me needing to manually add the commissions updates. Finally I went to one affiliate management programming specialist who told me they charge me 2k USD for an API so no take the hard road I say it'll pay off better in the long run.

I would say go for one solid, well-built site instead of more domains, yes. Although you may use landing pages per each casino, that can improve conversion. but it depends, sometimes the index works better.

Try not to detach too much from your product, and put yourself in the user's position, see how friendly/useful it is, results will follow accordingly...
