Hi guys,

Reluctantly I went to the LAC yesterday, found it very very busy and couldn’t spend the time I needed to with each of my affiliate managers.

Can anyone recommend a quieter conference with all the major players there please?

Thanks in advance anyone that can help

I'm surprised to hear that - I was there yesterday and thought it was the quietest LAC I've been to for years!
Normally it's heaving - but yesterday felt more like the second day than the first.

I had made all my appointments in advance and had plenty of time with each one.
Did you not pre-book?

Next one is Amsterdam I think - but if last year is anything to go on - it will be a lot busier than this year's LAC.
Most of the "big players" should be there.

Yea I booked in advance - maybe I’m just being grumpy but disappointed as with some of the managers we met that weren’t prebooked.

I went to Amsterdam last year and definitely got much more achieved so I think we will return again this year.

We aren’t super affiliates but can produce around 30 FTD’s per month across 6 bookmakers.

Was very surprised speaking to one of our current managers when questioning the deal at present with a reply of “sorry some programmes just don’t convert” was expecting more along the lines of “ok we will look to enhance your deal and keep up the good work”

I guess it’s just never enough!

Big players are on every conference. Last year Amsterdam and Berlin were way more quiet than London. This year I found it more quiet than the year before. Same thing for Amsterdam and Berlin: 2016 was in my perception more busy than 2017.

SIGMA is business-wise maybe the best one, but the venue is quite small.

I think there are just a bit too much of this events and some too close to each other.

Thanks for your feedback - which month or time of year is Sigma usually on please?

November. Don't know the 2018 dates yet. Last year it was almost just after Berlin, reason why Berlin was very quiet.

I forgot you were bookie-focused.
Bookmaker affiliates are definitely "different animals" to casino only ones and I always found them harder to deal with.
So bad in fact, that I have stopped working with just about all of them except Bet365.
I do work with a few casinos who also offer sports-betting, but not with Bookmakers who also offer casino - if you understand what I mean!

Yeah had a great conversation as always with Bet365, in fact got more achieved in 10 minutes with them than nearly all bar two

I think they're a bit "ahead". More focused on big affiliates, pressing the orange until it's empty, more focused on number and a disproportional "What's in it for me"-mentality.

We will see this also in the casino market in the future.

being out the game not done LAC for a couple of years now and as I never took it seriously the more I went the less I did, didn't really need to. went more for a drink and catch up with managers/friends. and although there are some right dickheads in this game there are some really sound affiliates as well so good to catch up with some of them as well. always found meetings decent though and mainly found them productive

Good conference for me. I've upgraded some deals, so I think it was worth going. Most deals I've made during dinners or drinks, not on the conference floor.

Most meetings at the conference floor were very standard and programmed.

LAC was fine, ICE as well. Great idea to connect these two to one for one day..

I'm going to second this one. Get the aff manager to take you out of the venue. That is where you will get the most done. This year I managed to upgrade 3 of my deals, one of them pretty drastically. Only one instance of this was on the conference floor. The rest was done outside the venue. I suppose the quieter environment yields better results. Also, you get to sneak in a little extra compensation by having them pay for drinks, dinner, and entertainment ;)

You been to many?
I would be nice to meet for a beer & a chat!

KK

Well I asked the same in PM as I did in the post above, said poster has blanked the PM and despite seeing them return to the thread reading the posts afterwards declines to answer a couple of harmless questions. So only conclusion I can have is they have never been to LAC, and posted yet another pointless post in the intention of spamming the forum. Hope we don't start getting the same as GPWA as since it blew up on there again the same pointless posts are still filling the place just with a lot more pointless words in them now

KK, do you have a kill switch on this oxygen thief?
My moderator privileges would allow me to do that - but I don't feel it is my decision to make. Annoying though this person is, they are not actually breaking any forum rules that I am aware of.

You need to contact the Big Dog and see what he says... ;)
