Hi everybody, This is my first post and would like your valued advice. since i started promoting online casino/sportsbook and spend many hours building and updating my site, i feel somewhat confused by this business of being a affiliate.
I read that many affiliates are getting ripped off, by either not getting paid or wrong stat reports and little or no commision. to me it dos'nt look good at all, are we dealing with con men or can someone restore my faith and give me some good news and let me know if i'am wasting my time by marketing this sites?
Thanks???

If you stick with quality programs, you should not have any problems. Programs on the right (i.e., Platinum Certified Programs) are required to pay their affiliates in a timely fashion. We do get involved if that is not the case and will remove certification if payment issues continue.

Certified Programs (check main forum page) are a good place to start as well. Just ask affiliates or check in their forum to see if there are payment issues.

In each program's forum, there is payment history. That is another good place to check :)

Good luck! This industry is NOT a waste of time.... trust me (and many other affiliates who are doing well.

What Guard Dog said. ;D

It's true that their are a fair number of ripoff affiliate programs out there. But there are also quite a lot that are very reputable. They treat their affiliates well, they pay on time, and they have meaningful, useful stats.

Also, as a newbie, you will probably have to try a dozen or so different programs before you find the ones that work best for you. What works for one affiliate doesn't always work for another.

I am the example of complete and utter failure in this industry up until a year ago. Took me three long years to earn anything. Yes, unimaginable proportions were scamming me sadly.

Work with solid reputable programs only. Have a plan, work the plan, and do not deviate from the plan. Remain firm and don’t let the bumps in the road slow you down.

No you are not wasting your time. Again stick only with rock solid programs. I would even go so far to say stick with one. Promote them well and let the other programs beg for exposure. Basically put yourself in the bargaining position with programs and other affiliates.

Few people post that they are happy with any programs. I guess it's human nature to just get to posting when one is unhappy and wants to complain.

So the preponderance of posts you see is negative.

Of course these posts are useful since they give us a heads up.

But they are not representative of the overall state of the industry.

If you put serious work into it, you can keep advancing and end up doing this full time, work from your home and make good money.

Just make sure to check the reputation of every property you want to list, both here and in player forums.

It is a battle in the beginning, and for me it still is a battle. What program is good today may not be tomorrow. I have about 200 active sites (my flagship site is huge) - I still battle for payments, programs still try to cheat, etc. Yes there are good programs. But everyone saying different things makes it quite hard to navigate the maze. Basically it will depend on your will to succeed and not much more. It is possible

Thanks for your reply, when you say it's hard to get paid, would you be paid in the end or do you have many bad debts to write off. Also are most of your stats correct, as i have a few cpa commision structures in place and these should'nt go wrong(no negative balance) and they should be simple to track as long as the player qualifies with deposit requirements. I have sent many referals to sportsbooks from friends just to test the program, but not all show on the reports. Is there anything i can do when i know for a fact that the clients i sent qualify for commision?
Thanks

Sometimes you'll lose money. More often than not you can get it in the end (depending again on your will to get it; they often just make it so difficult you get frustrated) it might be worth it to go into business with an attorney or accountant (or both) and have one of them responsible for accounts receivable. It will be easier in the beginning to start right than to try to correct yourself along the way. Get quickbooks or other accounting software. Get a banner manager software so you can take banners/links down quickly (in case of non-payment, etc) - you'd be surprised how much quicker programs are to react when their brand is missing from your site overnight.

That's terrible!
First I would make 100% sure (if not already) that your friends have definitely met the qualifying criteria. If possible, visit them, log in to their accounts and check the required deposit & wagering have been done.
Next, look to see if these programs have any sort of regulatory seal; such as Affiliate Guard Dog, GPWA, Licensing Authority, etc...
Then I would contact the program and challenge them about these players not registering on their system (without threatening further action at this stage), and see what they say.
If they still say nothing is wrong, then I would contact the above regulators, and at this point remove their links from my sites.
If there aren't any regulators, or they say the can't help, then the last resort would be take it to CasinoMeister to see if he can do anything.

If after all that you still don't get anywhere, then I think it would be fair enough to go to every affiliate forum you can find & post warnings about these people.

Regarding the affiliate business as a whole; as others have said above, building up a decent business is a VERY slow process. Keep putting in the hard work and eventually your efforts should be rewarded. But I'm talking years, not weeks!

Good luck,
KK

When you referred these players did you ask them to delete all cookies before clicking on your link?

Some programs use the first cookie method of tracking while others use the last one to tag a player.
