I've been in the business for a year and recognize now that there are few "loyal players" who play every month.

If you have a player who is playing every month - it is real asset.

But IMHO the number is decreasing every month.

For me, if you want to have loyal players, your site must have a good reputations. How? you must treat every single equally and don't force them to play on your casino.

I have one player with referback that plays about three times a week and started playing in 2004...

The real way to keep regular players is to partner with casinos that don't shave your regular/good players.

Some outfits (I was going to name a couple, but decided not too), you will never usually see a player play longer than one month... But on the positive side... you never usually have to deal with any winners with casinos that shave players...

Why not to name them? If you are sure about what they do, you should name them. This way you're just helping them to screw over other affiliates.

Because the question said "(average per Affiliate Program)" I had to vote 5 or less.

I don't really know how many "loyal" players I have in total, but I would guess something in the 15 - 20 range...? But since I work with over 80 different programs that brings the average down to a tiny fraction of around 1/4 players per program.

Well I guess that is one way to look at it.

Rather than try to name all the programs that shave, I try to stick to the positive and name the outfits that I trust (from experience) not to shave... like Referback.

If you want to know what programs shave players... just watch your stats... how many repeat players do you have per month? How many winners? The programs that shave will start to stand out as you get none or very few repeat players, whales will only stick around one month (this is the big one - whales are usually regular players - one month and gone is a very bad sign) and like I said you never have to worry about some big winner wiping out your commision... You see this kind of behavior from a aff program, your getting screwed.

I have loyal players most places, the least would be at Rival casinos.

Pardon a newbie for asking, but what does it mean when a casino "shaves" a player?

This term relates to when an affy program de-links (for want of a better word) a player from your account.

e.g. When a player clicks on a link on your website, goes to the casino site & signs-up, he is NOT linked to your affiliate account.
Or when a player becomes a good regular depositor, the casino could break the link to you so that you will no longer earn commission on his play.
The problem for the affiliate is, that unless they personally know the player there is absolutely no way to find out if he has been de-linked, or he had just simply stopped playing at that casino.

This business is 100% based on trust; that's why if you have any doubts about an affy program at all, you are better off steering well clear.

One reason why the loyal members are decreasing is there are many casino game sites take place every single day... so it is really expected that players do come and go to see what other benefits the other site can give them. Well, in order to keep a loyal player is to treat them as VIP and make sure they are happy. :)

Loyal players in casino it´s too dificult , the best programs to bring loyal players are sports betting sites , with casino poker etc... There the player can bet all months and play casino and poker.

I would add that low "average player value" could be the sign of "shaving". I am always checking on this number with the affiliate programs I work for. (=Total earnings /Number of Real players).

Of course, the more players you have, the result would be more accurate.

If I have a question I don't ask about loyal/big players any more. I've seen 2 decent players from two different programs/brands disappear within 48 hours of my inquiries.
One was a player that I was told SE'ed, only to reappear months later after some back end work, I inquired on a Friday, by monday they disappeared.

I agree actually. If it's a VIP, casinos should keep them happy, but if they are just your average Joe, no harm in bouncing around as long as they come back to to our affiliate sites to see what's 'the nest big thing'. ;)

Ultimately every player should be a VIP to the casinos - although we know that's not going to happen...

i responded with 5 or less but im only one year in from starting on casino, and on my best month i got only 2k uniques, with the sandbox time i imagine i have real traffic for only 3 months or so.

Im wondering if i will have the same rate, because i really make an effort for the visitor to come back for seconds and for the most part it seems they sometimes do, but this happens only on some programs, so far it seems i have 3 programs that get some deposits, and other 4 get great registry rate but lower deposits if any. i have been removing more and more brands and links from my main page...
