How long does it take you to typically rank a site?

In different languages than English, sometimes google updates are very slow so you may see spammy websites.
And sometimes google updates go "Wrong" in a way that can be good for you, and rank new website very high for few days, than it's important that the website would be clear and with good inner links etc. Because otherwise, they won't punish you, but just put you back down to the organic "Normal" Results for new websites with allot of competitors.

If you rank a site properly it takes years to rank it well, the history alone needs to build up, I could get a site or page ranking in weeks if needed but it will be taken down just as quick.

I agree it takes time to do it the right way, but you cannot know about "Years", maybe 18 months, Because i follow allot of websites, and i see the results, and also this field (SEO, google updates) Is very dynamic and relatively new, so there are allot of changes and algorithm updates in one given year.

Yes the new rank brain update is already showing some interesting results, no rules are ever set with google its just a constant adaption. The same line comes to mind time and time again, make your content good and you website relevant and eventually they will come.

Every day 2-3 new posts with fresh content can make someting, but it is really site per site. I am currently "sandboxed out" with brand new site (just on older domain). The site has 400 posts and it´s alive for 2 months. Still far away in SERP, I´ll just need to continue adding new content. It has to rank, just a bit of patience

The time when your site start ranking is affected by many factors. In my opinion, these are 4 most important factors.

• How strong websites your competitors have
• How much time have you spent with SEO
  
• What backlinks do you have or you want to earn
• And the content is still more and more important

I think the average time when you first keywords will rank is about 3 - 5 months. But as I said it depend on many factors that you can affect. But there are also factors, that you can't affect.

Is the Google algorithm.

And this creates havoc

With blog and website owners.

You just have to keep plugging on

And doing what you have to do –

Onsite SEO and OFFsite SEO –

Using white hat methods.

Do it, time and time again

And you will see your site ranking.

all very good points. personally coming from the SEO industry I have seen it take around 3 months to see something then around 6 months to 1 year too really see a increase. Targeting 3rd world countries is prob the easiest way to increase website traffic and sales but for casino wise you won't see as big of deposits.

We have some projects in small Europe country, so it was really easy to get to top 1-3 positions, it takes ~2-3 months and it was enaugt to get few good baclkins and put to all local directories.
It seems that in some little markets still working all technics which is not working so good in .com market.
Also i think the most important question is not to try to get as fast as possible, but try to keep steady work and pick good technics and you will be definitely on first page, just be patiant

I was wondering on average how long it takes you to rank a given site in the casino niche? I often see some spam sites gaming the system with quick results but don't understand how they can achieve ranking's like that so fast. Any info would be appreciated

I guess 6 - 12 months to see any traffic come through from SEO and then revenue generation after you get some serious traffic? Google has made our lives seriously hard and guessing it will only get harder

I agree with you. In fact, Google's aim is to make us natural! Not a marketer! But the dilemma is that our business is all about "MARKETING"

So Google does not love "affiliates"!
