Hi!

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself to this great forum .

I have followed the i-gaming industry for many years, but I am quite new to the affiliate side of the industry. Just created my first casino affiliate site, so I am here to learn, listen and hopefully actively participate in some of the discussions.

I am using the same nickname over at Casinomeister, so I already know some of you ;D

Cheers

Thanks again guys. Nice to see some mates here ;D

online18casino: Online gambling is very popular in Norway, as it has been for long time. It was reported earlier this year that well over 300 000 Norwegian players are playing online on offshore gambling sites, from a population of about 5 mill. This has become a big problem for our national lottery company who of course has the monopoly to offer sportsbetting, lotto etc to Norwegians.

I believe that Norwegians (or Scandinavians in general) are regarded as quite profitable from an affiliate point of view as well.

Thank you Jam. Much appreciated

It has been interesting so far to learn more about the affiliate side of the industry. Although I have very little knowledge about things like SEO, backlinking etc, but I am hoping to learn more about that in this forum. At this point I am just happy that I finally have a little site up and running ;D

Well your site already looks better than the vast majority of affiliate sites, IMHO. Assuming your site is the one in your signature at CM...

The design is professional and modern in a way that most affiliate sites never manage to achieve, with the exception of sites with big teams and/or big budgets.

2 tips:

(1) Your site is missing a favicon. It's not a big deal, but it doesn't take much to add one and it's nice for people bookmarking the site, it looks better on the browser tab too (where I noticed it's missing)... Actually looking at the code it does reference a favicon but it appears to be blank, and anyway it's probably better if the file is actually named favicon.ico and placed in the root.

(2) It's a nice effect with the new content 'fading-in' after clicking a button, instead of loading a new page, but that will probably cause problems with SEO. Search engine bots are smart and can probably index these AJAX URLs, but it's never going to be as reliable as standard URLs. Even Twitter finally gave up and removed the symbols from their URLs recently. If I were doing SEO for your site, that would be the main priority - get regular URLs that can more easily be indexed by search engines. Designers can create great-looking sites but if they don't understand SEO then it's not going to be an optimal situation in the long-term, even if it looks good :)

If you're going to keep the current AJAX style URLs then it's probably worthwhile to have a very long look at Google's guidelines here:

Jam:

Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it!

I am not only new to being an affiliate, but this is also the first website I have created so any advice is very helpful.

I do not know how to code my own site etc, so I have used a «build your own website» program (probably not very SEO friendly hehe). But I did not use a template. Started with a blank page and added my own design, so I am glad you think the site itself looks good.

I have also noticed that my site does not have any favicon. I have no idea how to add it, but I should probably look into this hehe. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I see there are a lot of useful information on the link you provided. Not sure why I have not visited that section before!

Thanks again!

Great to keep in mind. I always hear a lot, but who knows whats true online now-a-days :) Good to hear from someone who actually lives there! Thank you.

Thanks ;D

I am sure I will enjoy my time here yes. I have been reading this forum as a "guest" for some time. Think it was KasinoKing who first mentioned this forum to me. He has also several times later referred to really helpful threads here :emoticon-0148-yes:

Thank you gabriel_LCP ;D

I have a question to all of you if I may.

I have chosen not to use any (blinking) banners on my site. I usually find them a bit annoying. But I know that many (or maybe most?) casino affiliates are using these on their site. So my question. Banners or not?

Thanks for any feedback
