Thank Christ o' Mighty that Lent is coming to an end. I gave up way too much and while I succeeded, damn, it was a trying task!

I don't participate in Lent anymore, but I used to do the "no meat on Fridays" thing when I was growing up.

Now, I find it kind of ironic that some people give up meat on Fridays, yet there are these huge fish fry dinners every Friday, put on by churches and VFW halls, etc.

Instead of "sacrificing" on Fridays, people are going out and gorging themselves on delicious deep fried fish, french fries, baked potatoes, cole slaw, dinner rolls, and sometimes beer (depending on where the dinner is held), spending $10-$15 per person. What a sacrifice! Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? A little tooo ironic... Yeah I really do think.....
