I just did a manual search and was shocked with the result. It appears it is better to rank for 0 instead of 1 these days even in real money casino gambling searches. Google is putting in the featured snippet from the websites above the #1 result. Read more about featured snippets here.

let-s face it 97% of casino results is spam or low quality anyhow.. I suppose it would be best to aim to be the rich snippet result? besides it's the ton of paid search which has no relevance that gets me

these have not been paid results, they are usually disclosed as ads. One of the the two sites i am talking about is on here and is a big affiliate.

Yes sometimes even a small table appears with all the bonus codes etc.. my question is are any of the sites underneath as good as the main site? or are they just generic cookie cutter pages? Google has an algo that pulls these snippets.. but what does it take? a CTR over a certain%? I don't think it would be link related but perhaps more visitor action related "if tracked" perhaps?

Let see if Google continues to serve featured snippets for these searches, and how can we catch some of those featured snippets.

use tables and pray to outrank the competitors, this is the only way to get featured like that.

Not sure I agree with that. Most of these are not tables, but Rich Snippets.

to get to rich snippet you need to have the elements in place, and table is a must

ah. ok. I don't recall tables being a must when I did Rich Snippets from one of my sites about a year ago.

it is not rich snippet with markup, but it is a snippet that generates itself for the knowledge graph by Google, and in heavy affiliate niches proper tables do miracles - completely overtake fold and more

Ah. gotcha. Great information - thanks :) Any examples to go along with that?

Yep, more visitors for sure. Andy the world casino directory has been on there. I see them around here sometimes.

I found this Featured Snippet about 2 months ago in a search I was doing at the time. Not sure if it's still showing now or not, but thought it was pretty cool at the time!

We have a few of these in both igaming and mainstream. Doesn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason to it that we can figure out. For example, out of the blue we picked up a snippet for 'how to play [game name]' on a very old fairly crap site that hasn't been updated in many years that really doesn't deserve to have it.

Site has no microdata, not a lot of content, hardly any links and, until this popped up, pretty much zero traffic.

Funny thing is until this happened we thought we had figured it out.

There are really a lot of factors, so it's hard to define the initial data that influenced the final results( I already have seen the websites of a low quality in top-1 of google. That's because of affiliating and rivate networks. Don;t really understand how websites with such a pure content and characteristics can influence the search rankings so strongly.
By the way? Can you contact me to superiorhuman@zoho.com or give me your emil, I have some questions considering your website?
