Hello everyone, i am new member of ADG and wanted o say hi to all of you guys!

I have been thinking about being a affiliate for long time now and i finally made a site!

I would love to get tips on how i can get traffic, how my site is looking, something negative or something positive will be great :)

I should say my site is in Norwegian which i only target, and only promote casinos that pay fast, good support and stable site.

I also have blog on it where i will post daily. I make my own banner since i can work with photoshop i should note.

Just read through my own post and freaked little since almost all my sentence beginning with "I"

i cant post my website due to my low posts but its norskjackpot(dot)com

Nice graphics!

One thing I noticed straight away though, is your whole website is far too wide, even for my wide-screen laptop. (I get a side to side scroll bar at the bottom).
You need to remember that different people have different displays and you should try to cater for the narrowest, so as to not frustrate your visitors.

The home-page is also a bit too much like a banner farm - you need a bit more content and/or less banners.
Finally, when giving the names of slots (as in your variance guide) remember to use Capital Letters at the start of their names - lower case looks unprofessional.

You're on the right track though, so welcome to AGD and good luck!

Thank you very much for you reply, and your input will make my site better! i will definitely fix those you mention.

and regarding the banner farm, should i just use text you mean or more text and make it smaller picture?

BTW i don't think you will see the scroll bar if you use any tablet or iPhone on this site.

thank you again

Good day, fine sir!

Initial impressions are good, although I'd see if you can optimise that background image a little - 250KB seems a bit on the high side.

I think having the banners on the front page is fine, although I would also add some content to the page. It would also look a bit better (IMO) if you use the same size image for each rather that having them different sizes.

I would also consider using a redirect (or whatever) for your aff links rather than having them naked on the page. It looks better and you'll be glad you did when you only have to change a link once instead of 100 times.

Very good start though!

Ps. It could do with some more content too - but I'm assuming that'll come with time?

This is the guide I used to link cloaking: webmasterstricks.com/wt-6-link-cloaking.php

Its very simple, short and to the point. I use the ".htaccess Redirect"

There are a few ways of doing it, some CMS even come with it built in as a function. Others you can use a plug in.

Or you can do it manually using .htaccess, or with a php file, or go old school and use a meta refresh.

It depends on the person really, as well as how their site's set up. There's probably a bunch of threads on AGD about each method - just search the forums for 'cloaking affiliate links' and I'm sure you'll find a bunch of useful info!

Edit: Here's a method using PHP that's quite commonplace: https:// www. affiliateguarddog. com/forums/how-mask-hide-affiliate-links-t6135.html

I like the site.

Your facebook link is broken.

I would recommend that you make the logo at the top clickable, because a lot of people expect it to be clickable. It should go to the homepage.

remember to use Capital Letters at the start of their names

I'm not sure if it's the same in Norwegian, European languages often use capitals completely differently than English. I had a bunch of foreign language sites where I capitalized names the way they would be capitalized in English, turns out it was all very wrong :)

Hi I am a fellow Scandinavian (Denmark) :)

I had problems with cloaking as well. Until I found this great site.

The Ultimate Affiliate Link Cloaker

It is really easy and simple to use does all the work for you and only need to copy paste. It is all explained if you hover mouse over the (?)

Ignore the 2 top lines they are no use for us only for Clickbank.

But rest is explained and very simple :)

I had problem as my forum software at Forumotion does not support what I needed so I setup the pages and copy paste code. And from there use my link works perfect.

Though I have been to lazy using cloaking since last year.

Do you guys feel it is important and am I loosing out now I don't do it anymore?

Sure thing bud!

For a new site I would make a social network page on each of the top sites (Facebook, etc). Make sure you fill them out with lots of info, inclusion of your keyword ideas would help ;). Then I would submit your site for review at the top online casino directories, like lots-o-cash. Again, filling out the information very completely. Take count of what these links look like, and then write a few (high quality) articles using different anchor texts.

Paying for some advertising can really help get Twitter and FB pages get started up, but I have yet to pay for any directory listing. I am told they are not super effective, but what can it hurt right? lol. Then repeat this using only your raw URL, like in my sig. Diversity is key, and the articles will show that you have authority on the subject of online gambling!

When you start you will have to be generous and give other (bigger) sites love, and hope for some in return. Never spin, or auto submit... but if you put your info onto the net manually it will probably be a good thing.

Keeping up your activity on your chosen social networks is important too. Staying active here will defiantly help a lot as well!

The biggest part is... Create and Publish Great Content!

Good luck new friend.
