Here's the latest shady shenanigans from these Genesys Group crooks.

Grand Eagle Casino brazenly pockets progressive jackpot

A player wins a $46k progressive jackpot at Grand Eagle but the casino gets them on a technicality that they do nothing to prevent: player claimed two free chips in a row before depositing. They close the account and flip the player off.

Sure the player did it, but how easy would that be to prevent if they just programmed their systems to disallow any new free chips until the player makes a deposit? Basic right? Their rep even admitted to me that their systems allow someone to claim up to 10 free bonuses until their account is automatically locked. So they have the capability but they choose not to. Why not? I think we all know the answer to that.

But even worse, the icing on the shit cake is that they keep the progressive jackpot money and refuse to put it back into the pot for other players to win. I've been at them a few times about this for more than a month but they just refuse to even acknowledge the issue.

Yeah exactly. The free chip "abuse" is them mailing out freebie offers to their database. Then when the player uses them twice in a row they are screwed - they can deposit and lose or deposit and not win.

I'm totally over this "players need to abide by the rules" attitude that sadly everyone has come to accept in this industry. Sure they do, but casinos need to do far better in actually enforcing their rules automatically so they can't be broken, whether deliberately or accidentally. Something as simple as that should be impossible for the player to do. All they have to program is a simple check like:

Code:
if (date_of_last_deposit < date_of_last_free_chip) {
  // No freebies for you
}

But then they wouldn't be able to entice people back over and over with freebie offers that put people in a position where they can't win, would they?

Same goes for other common gotchas like restricted games and bet limits. FFS its 2019 and still these amateur hour casinos want to use hidden T&Cs traps to save themselves from paying out a win instead of just programming the restrictions into the casino software. I've been saying this for 10 years but I can count on one hand the number of casinos that I am aware of that actually do this properly.

It's very common though for casinos to have the 2 free chip rule, though it really sucks for this player :(

I wonder how many new affiliates will be steering clear from the Genesys Group after reading this thread.

Of course it is common.

It is also completely unacceptable that these casinos do not prevent it from happening. It would take a few minutes of work by any competent coder. It's such a simple thing to fix that the fact that it is not prevented can only lead to the conclusion that they want this sort of thing to happen.

There is also far too much acceptance of this sort of bullshit from affiliates and players. It's like some kind of Stockholm syndrome where the abused sympathise with their abusers.

You're a casino and you don't want someone claiming two free chips in a row? Don't let them. Don't want someone playing roulette after they claimed a bonus? Don't let them. Don't want someone betting more than $5 a spin after they claim a bonus? Don't let them. It cannot be that hard. Imagine the money they would save on day to day support costs, fewer pissed off customers, and less bad publicity through not having to deal with cases like this.
