Not long ago I created my 2nd casino site for SA, localized the content but I think it's even more of mission to rank nowadays.

I probably need to structure my content better...

Any advice whichcasino.co.za

First - I like very much the look of it. Neat.

Few comments:
The top casino i would call something more attractive like casino of the month etc.
Content - there is not much content on the site, like the games for example have no content so it's hard to rate them.
The main question is what you are looking to rank for cause at least from a quick look I couldn't find out which keywords or visitors you target...

I have a bunch of reviews, they're further down the page. I've added content to all the table games and working my way up the list.

Like the idea of 'casino of the month'

I think it is a pretty solid site overall. I don't mind any of the dropdowns, but I would do some work and make it more friendly to differing resolutions. If you reduce the window size, it doesn't always flow very well.

seems to be a little buggy. on responsive, the off canvas menu appears but there are no links, both with ff and chrome testers.

There are many faults there..

The site is too big with slow loading. Why do you have so big images there? flycasino-za.png has 2.5MB!!It is scaled from 1 645px × 1 220px to 251px × 186px, why? And it is not only one image like this one (silversands.png, vegashero-za.png, etc..)

Fix it asap ;-)

It does take patience. Just when you are thinking about throwing in the towel you will see some good results. That is how it seems to work for me anyway. Site looks pretty good. Keep adding fresh content and I think you will get there.

The overall look is nice there. BUT one thing I think you should change is the way you have "Featured" Casino at top. It does not stand out clear enough that it is the featured casino. Would be better calling it "this month casino" or "Casino of the week" I get first impression when land on the site. That this could had been "Casino Luck" and just the casino because of the slots listed below. I get feeling it is just a general Casino.

So that would be my suggestion to change it a bit there.

At looking further. I would say that section you have far down underneath the slots section. That should be further up top. Here I talk about your Latest News. Get that to top of page.
Then split the featured slots and featured casino into 2 in middle below instead of everything below each other.

Also our friend google apparantly also likes having unique content "Above The Fold" so that way you will get better results and will stay better friends with google. Please don't beat me on this as regards to SEO I stink LOL I am no mastermind but I do pickup some good things.

You definitely need to compress the review images. As Rick has already pointed out, the images are huge.
I checked one of the review images and it was 1.25 megabytes. It took me only a few seconds to resize the
image and compress it. I was able to bring the image size down to 200KB without losing any quality.

That´s right eenzoo, I´ve never seen so low PSI website score ever..

For image optimization use wp plugins like ewww, smush pro, tinypng plugin, for other aspects try autoptimize, speed booster pack, bj lazy loading etc..

Good luck..

I like the featured games, but I would advice you to give the individual game pages more content. Maybe a review of the game or description. It could also be an idea to give the frontpage a bit more of a casino feeling by changing the first background picture to a more themed one. Good luck with your new project!

Thanks for the feedback guys, re-looking my homepage. Image size can be sorted with caching.

The proper way to optimize images for speed is to set them as background images. Then use css media queries to swap in the different sizes depending on the viewing device/screen width. Making them hyperlinked is a little tricky and requires a work around.

I have a non-gambing site that uses this technique, the mobile phone png logo is 7k while the mega desktop logo is 219k, tablets/laptops are around 88k.
The drawback is the maintenance.

There is an attribute called srcset that automatically chooses the most optimized image from a set of images (listed the image tag) depending on the device being used. Unfortunately browser support is limited. http://caniuse.com/#feat=srcset

There is also something in beta called AMP HTML (Accelerated Mobile Pages) which Google is advocating which supports srcset.

My personal opinion is most new sites are in a "sandbox 2 for at least 6 months. New sites are now pretty much impossible to rank for a year or so. You are better buying old domains with history and creating new sites on them.

That is probably the best advice I've heard in a while.

Most "new" sites i create now I don't even bother looking at my google ranks for 6 months its really difficult to be that disciplined but if you don't have time there is always a work around. If not like i said plenty of expiring domains go up daily. Just make sure you do your homework on them and check the history.

Whois and wayback machine are 2 great tools for this.

I can get sites to rank pretty quickly.. the key is content, fresh and thousands of pages of it.. it's not cheap, "As you could never manage the volume alone" it's not easy but it works
