I put up my review of this slot, here: Doo-Wop Daddy-O Review | Video Slot

(Review at the bottom of that page)

I know Rival has to put up both high and low variance slots, but it seems to me that slots with this style of bonus round are way more irritating than they are fun. Especially when you have wins like I did (Once bonus round I won $4.00 on a $2.00 betsize).

Seriously... This game is all about letting players play for a long time, but eventually losing out because there is almost no way to ever win more than you lose. I'll almost bet that 99.9% of the players will never win anything on this slot.

Anyway - that is my frustration after playing the game for quite awhile trying to gather screenshots. Anyone else played it yet? What are your thoughts?

Forgot to say... This is one of the few slots that allows $50 bets... Wonder why?? :) Haven't all the high variance games stopped doing this because of the wins?

Well... no wins here, so lets allow the bettors to bet big! woohoo.

Can you feel the dripping sarcasm :)

Played it early this-morning. Not terribly impressed as it seems to have a glitch and a very poorly thought out bonus round.
My mini-review is in my Kasino News here.
Extract:
However, I also soon noticed this slot has a couple of annoying facets & glitches…

I got both types of feature in just a few spins; with the Soda Fountain Bonus the welcome screen says “combine the ingredients” so I expected to be able to chose – but you can’t chose, it TELLS you where you must click! See this for yourself on YouTube (my first ever go at that bonus!): YouTube - Doo-Wop Daddy-O annoying glitch?

Also, when the Drag Race bonus round finishes you get a screen where the total amount won counts up on the screen, with a “Continue (back to the slot)” button – but it doesn’t wait for you to click the button, it just goes back before the count-up has even finished!

The last thing I personally found annoying is the way the border around the slot flashes while you’re playing.

Yep - i expected to combine the ingredients as well. Was annoyed that it is basically a 'click here'. I would rather just not play a bonus game where I was told where to click. They should add a 'skip bonus and give me whatever money Rival determined I should get'.

The Drag Race bonus was worse for me, though. I couldn't get the shifter to shift EVER. So - each bonus round for that one (and I had like 5-6 of them) ended up in a $4 win from a $2 bet. It just wouldn't work for me.

For me on that one, though, the countup waited the whole $4 :) And I did have to click continue.

Just like the other bonus, you have to wait until it tells you where to click.
I was just as lost as you the first time I played it, and you can see me clicking frantically in all the wrong places like a loon in the other video I uploaded to YouTube:
YouTube - Doo-wop Daddy-O faulty design!

We all know all Rivals bonus rounds are pre-determined anyway, but with this slot at least they have taken away any tiny element of doubt! ;D

All I am going to say is, "THE GAME SUCKS".

As far as allowing big bets, I can tell you why, it has no free spins, and that is were you could make a killing betting big on rival slots.

my thoughts,
why put up a review?

I don't review it if it is crap.
I'm pretty slow in getting caught up in new game releases but generally I play in fun mode untill I get a bonus round or two and if I think it bites, see ya. Heap bin. I might mention it's name somewhere as in "other Rival slot games include:"

As a matter of fact while getting info for something else, I briefly tried the RTG hockey game, see ya, but the other fruit one I think will draw some players. I'll play each again to be sure but the fruit bowl game I think players will like. jmo.

A player that gets a lousy paying bonus round might just pawn it off as "it happens from time to time" but if it happens a second time or a third time during the same playing session I can almost guarantee they'll abandon the game but is generally not enough of deal breaker for them to abandon the casino, one thing I can guarantee is they won't tell a friend about how fun the game is. jmo

My rant over, I would be interested in how many game reviews actually get players, perhaps my approach is flawed and I should just blanket review every game. However, in all honesty how could I recommend a game or casino that stinks as I think most players play slots for the bonus round, at least that is the impression I got from sitting next to players at the landies.
