Hi Guys,

I have a question going through my mind regarding auto geo target on website.
I know that there might be different opinions about this in fact I have one of my own as well but do not want to influence the purpose of this post.

Lets say you are an Italian player visiting UK and you access an affiliate website... the webiste at first loads content in English and £ as currency.

If you switch the website to show Italian instead of English, would you expect that the currency will change as well to € ...?

Important thing to remember is that casinos and bonuses are also Geo targeted so some Casinos available in Italy might not be available to UK....

best would be the casino to provide dynamic geo located link, aka send the visitor to the relevant lander/currency for his location.... though only a few do that

Yeah I know what you mean... however what I meant was about content on an affiliate site and not the casino out click link

if you run big site, with lets say 100+ casinos offers... would be a complete nightmare to manage all this, esp when they change their offers often, what I do is just stick to main currency - aka if I target Europe + UK is mix £ and euro offers, if English speaking countries global I go for USD offers - works for everyone :)

Yeah I thought of that beforehand so I have modified my custom CMS to handle a casino globally when editing a bonus so its not a big issue for me... however I think I will be using a method where the user will get bonuses and currency to which ever country he is currently using the website from because eventually if one of his favorites casino is not available in the country he is using the site then it will be useless showing him that casino.

I was trying to make my sidebar ads geo friendly last night. My problem was with caching, even with ajax I couldn't get it to work so I just made a simple tab called 'World' and 'USA Only'.. Might change it to 'Free World' and 'USA' lol

Hahahaha good one RyanWeb.... yeah if you are involving PHP then cache will always be an issue. You need to do that client side to avoid caching issues... preferably JS

yeah... however you will still need PHP support to get the user IP location... unless you want to implement a JS plugin at a small cost :)
